DEAR STACY: We watched "Raging Bull" again recently, and were wondering about Cathy Moriarty, who was so good in the movie she won an Academy Award nomination, I believe. What has she been doing? She seemed to disappear. — Robert A., Tacoma, Wash.

DEAR ROBERT: The "Raging Bull" Best Supporting Actress nominee has been busy, seen earlier this year in the big-screen "The Bounty Hunter," and in "The Extra Man," the Kevin Kline-John C. Reilly-Katie Holmes comedy that's been out this summer in limited release. She's also done a "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" two-episode arc this year. For much of the decade, however, the actress has been focusing most of her attention on motherhood. Her twins, Catherine and Joseph, were born in 2000, and daughter Annabelle arrived the following year. She has been married to Joseph Gentile since 1999 and, in fact, refers to herself as Cathy Moriarty-Gentile. Her forays before the cameras also included the 2002 "Analyze That," a crowd-pleasing turn as a femme mob boss in the film starring her "Raging Bull" leading man, Robert De Niro.

DEAR STACY: Please settle a bet. I say George Clooney used to be married. My sister-in-law insists it was only a long-term live-in relationship he had.

Who's right? — Janice S., Columbus, Ohio

DEAR JANICE: You win. Clooney was married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993.

DEAR STACY: I used to enjoy watching William Windom. I wondered if he is still with us. — J.H., Sparks, Nev.

DEAR J.H.: Yep, Windom turns 87 next month. The native New Yorker's continued logging credits in his octogenarian years, including playing a character named Grandpa Winkle in a 2006 independent feature called "Just," and serving as narrator for a series of macabre tales on audio tape called "Light's End" by Michael Vance. Married since 1975 to fifth wife Patricia, he's the father of four. The beloved actor/adventurer, whose great-grandfather was an influential Minnesota senator on Lincoln's kitchen cabinet, has a very long list of credits. They include: 18 Broadway plays, two TV series of his own — "The Farmer's Daughter" (1963-1965) and "My World and Welcome to It" (1969-1970), for which he won an Emmy Award — and many supporting and guest-star roles on TV, plus films ranging from "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" to "To Kill a Mockingbird."

DEAR STACY: Is Maura Tierney related to the old Hollywood actress Gene Tierney? — Clark G., Chattanooga, Tenn.

DEAR CLARK: No relation.
