DEAR STACY: I love the sound of the song playing in the Target varsity commercial where a group of young people are playing bocce ball with some old guys. What is the song and who performs it? — Travis H., Albuquerque, N.M.

DEAR TRAVIS: That's "California Soul" by Marlena Shaw, remixed by Diplo.

DEAR STACY: I like the actress Natasha Henstridge. Can you tell me what she's been doing lately? — Leah G., Taft, CA

DEAR LEAH: The "Species" actress is in the CW's fall-debuting "The Secret Circle" series, which has to do with a group of young witches. The show is based on the young-adult fantasy-romance series of novels written by L. J. Smith, who also wrote "The Vampire Diaries" books.

DEAR STACY: What is William Shatner up to now that "$#*! My Dad Says" is off the air? — Gil H., Atlanta.

DEAR GIL: The 80-year-old cultural icon has been pushing his documentary film, "The Captains," in which he interviews the other actors who played "Star Trek" captains.

It was shown recently on the Epix channel. Shatner also expects to come out with a memoir and an album within the year.

DEAR STACY: Whatever became of Carrie Snodgress, who got an Oscar nomination for "Diary of a Mad Housewife?" Is she still with us? — Yolanda C., Santa Ana, CA

DEAR YOLANDA: No. Snodgress died of heart and liver failure in 2004 at age 58 while awaiting a liver transplant. She had amassed many credits during her career. Her last project was cable's "Iron Jawed Angels," a movie about women's suffrage, which filmed after Snodgress took time away from the spotlight to raise her son (with Neil Young) Zeke, who was born with cerebral palsy. Zeke was at her side when she died.
