DEAR STACY: Did they ever make a new version of "Footloose" — the one Zac Efron backed out of, and then Chace Crawford was going to do? I still love the original with Kevin Bacon. — Billie G., Chandler, Ariz.

DEAR BILLIE: Yes, the 2011 "Footloose" is due Nov. 25, starring 25-year-old newcomer Kenny Wormald (seen in videos for Prince, Madonna and others, as well as MTV's "Dancelife") along with Julianne Hough and Dennis Quaid, and a supporting cast including Andie MacDowell.

DEAR STACY: Can you tell me, what is my favorite actress, Frances McDormand, up to lately? — David D., Clinton, Iowa

DEAR DAVID: Currently starring on Broadway in David Lindsay-Abaire's new drama, "Good People," McDormand is due to head to Cannes in May. She's in "This Must Be The Place," in which Sean Penn plays an aging rock star living off his royalties in Dublin, with a cast that also includes Bono's daughter, Eve Hewson, Talking Heads front man David Byrne and Judd Hirsch. The film was chosen to compete at the 64th Cannes Film Festival. The Oscar-winning actress goes the 3-D blockbuster route July 1, with a role in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

DEAR STACY: Please settle an argument.

My friend believes that Nicky and Paris Hilton are tall girls. I think they are of average height. Who's right? — Carla R., Spokane, Wash.

DEAR CARLA: Paris stands 5 feet 8 inches, sister Nicky 5 feet 6 inches.

DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to Melissa Sue Anderson, the girl who played Mary on the original series of "Little House on the Prairie"? — Shannon K., Fullerton, Calif.

DEAR SHANNON: Melissa Sue Anderson was 20 years old when "Little House on the Prairie" came to an end, but she continued to work by appearing in television movies and episodic shows such as "The Love Boat," "The Equalizer" and "Murder, She Wrote." Now 48, she continues to act occasionally — she played First Lady Megan Hollister in the 2006 television miniseries "10.5: Apocalypse," for instance — but her main focus has been on her two children, Piper (20) and Griffin (15), with her writer/producer husband, Michael Sloan. She has lived in Montreal, Quebec, Canada for the past nine years and become a naturalized Canadian citizen, along with her husband, in 2007.
