DEAR STACY: I read that Tony Danza and his wife are divorcing after 24 years of marriage. Sorry about that. Danza has always seemed like a good guy. Whatever happened to his "Teach" show? What is he doing now? — Melissa H., West Haven, Conn.

DEAR MELISSA: Well-intentioned though it was, "Teach" didn't draw a sizable audience, to say the least, and A&E pulled the plug. Danza does not have a new project ready for public consumption at the moment, but stay tuned. He's recently been talking about a return to Broadway.

DEAR STACY: Has Ty Pennington ever been married? — Sandy P., Torrance, Calif.

DEAR SANDY: No, but the hunky "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" carpenter has a long-time girlfriend — his manager, former model Drea Bock. The 1920s Atlanta home they designed into a showplace for themselves has been featured in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles magazine.

DEAR STACY: When "American Idol" first premiered, there were two hosts, Ryan Seacrest and another young man. What is that other host's name and what is he doing now? — M.C., Canton, Ohio

DEAR M.C.: You're thinking of Season 1 co-host Brian Dunkleman.

He was featured on "Celebrity Fit Club" and has done guestings on various other shows. He does stand-up dates around the country. He told Howard Stern during a radio chat that although he'd been depressed over his situation for months after his departure (he left, but reportedly would have been fired if he hadn't) — and still felt resentment toward Ryan Seacrest — he'd come to terms with his near miss with "Idol" success and was happy with his life.

DEAR STACY: Why hasn't Jay Leno ever hosted the Oscars? They need someone who is funny and who appeals to a wide audience. He'd be perfect. — Jim D., Newark, N.J.

DEAR JIM: Leno has turned down the Academy Awards emceeing gig several times, believing that it would simply be too demanding to spend weeks preparing for the big night — which is typical of Oscar hosts — while doing the "Tonight Show."
