Ask Stacy -- Week of 3/23/13DEAR STACY: I heard that Julianne Hough has a new movie on the way written by Diablo Cody of "Juno" fame. Can you give details on this? And what else is my favorite "Dancing With the Stars" alumna up to? — Jamie H., Chattanooga, Fla. DEAR JAMIE: You are referring to the upcoming big screen "Paradise," due some yet-to-be-specified time this year, if all goes as planned. Hough has described the film as being about "a young conservative woman [who] suffers a crisis of faith" after surviving a plane crash. Russell Brand, Octavia Spencer and Holly Hunter will also star in the film, which marks screenwriter Cody's directorial debut. Hough and brother Derek are also developing a series about competitive ballroom dancing, "Blackpool," that they will produce for the Starz cable network. DEAR STACY: What is the music used in the trailer for "The Great Gatsby"? Great stuff. — Larry W., Clinton, Iowa DEAR LARRY: That's "No Church in the Wild" by Jay-Z and Kanye West.
DEAR STACY: Is the lead actor in "Royal Pains," Mark Feuerstein, the same actor who played on "The West Wing"? — Ann Z., Cedar Rapids, Iowa DEAR ANN: Feuerstein did have a 2005 character arc in "The West Wing," as Senate Majority Counsel Cliff Calley. The actor has done a lot of series work, including the series "Good Morning Miami" and "Caroline in the City." DEAR STACY: We were talking about the famous story in which Arthur Godfrey fired a singer on the air, but don't remember the specifics. Who was that poor man, and whatever became of him? — D.H., Canoga Park, Calif. DEAR D.H.: You're referring to singer Julius La Rosa, now 83, who rebounded quite well from his public dismissal ("That was Julie's swan song with us") by the then hugely-popular Godfrey way back in 1953. He immediately went on to appearances on Ed Sullivan's show, and his next two records were big hits. La Rosa kept working as a recording artist and TV personality for decades. In fact, his official website still shows bookings through 2008. Based in Westchester Country, N.Y., he's been living more quietly since then.
