DEAR STACY: What is Tony Danza up to? Any chance he'll go on another show? — Ruth E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa
DEAR RUTH: Danza has a prospective sitcom in the works for ABC in partnership with Vince Vaughn's production company. It's about three old buddies on the threshold of their golden years, whose lives have taken very different paths, who decide to room together when each one finds himself faced with starting a new chapter in life. Meanwhile, expect to see Danza on the big screen as part of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's yet untitled first directing gig, a dark comedy in which the actor would play a porn-loving playboy who sets out to become a better person. You might remember, Danza played the pitcher and young Gordon-Levitt the foster kid at the heart of the action in the popular family flick"Angels in the Outfield" nearly two decades ago.
DEAR STACY: I was a big fan of "The Mole" and "Celebrity Mole." Any chance of a comeback for either show? — Jordan C., Chattanooga, Tenn.
DEAR JORDAN: Sorry, there are no plans to bring either version back.
DEAR STACY: I'd like to know if Herman of Herman's Hermits is still around. I haven't heard anything about him in years. — Wendy M., Columbus, Ohio
DEAR WENDY: You're thinking of Peter Noone, the frontman for that wildly popular, 60 million record-selling British Invasion 60's group — starting when he was a mere 15 years old. He still plays more than 200 concerts a year, mostly in the U.S. and in the U.K., with the band. Last year, Noone did a lot of promotion work on behalf of the Warner Archive Collection release of the campy Herman's Hermits movies "Mrs. Brown, You've Got A Lovely Daughter," "Hold On!" and "When The Boys Meet The Girls." He recalled, "When we did 'Mrs. Brown, You've Got a Lovely Daughter,' we'd been touring 360 days a year, and then suddenly we were working in one place all the time, eating three healthy meals a day instead of rushing to make our trains and planes. I went from 110 pounds to 140 pounds." Consequently, if you look closely, his weight pops up and down, scene to scene.
DEAR STACY: Can you tell me if Dr. Joy Browne and Sylvia Browne are related? I believe they resemble one another. — T.R., Orlando, Fla.
DEAR T.R.: Radio psychologist Browne is not related to psychic Sylvia, who was born Sylvia Celeste Shoemaker.
