DEAR STACY: On the show "Medium," what are the names of the actors who play the ghost of Joe Dubois' dead father, and the Texas Ranger who was in a coma? Will the second actor ever reprise his Texas Ranger role? — Sarah L., Huntington, Ind.

DEAR SARAH: Canadian actor Bruce Gray portrays the spirit known only as Mr. Dubois on "Medium." His U.S. credits include playing Admiral Chekote on both "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine." Captain Kenneth Push of the Texas Rangers has been portrayed by Arliss Howard, aka Debra Winger's husband. He's not on the schedule of upcoming episodes. However, the show's creator, Glenn Gordon Caron, has cited Push as one of his favorite characters, so perhaps he'll reappear again. "Medium" has been getting decent numbers on CBS and is expected to return for the 2010-2011 season.

DEAR STACY: How long has Tyra Banks had IBS and is she a Lakers fan? — C.S.C., East Hartford, Conn.

DEAR C.S.C.: She definitely is a Lakers fan. Her irritable bowel syndrome, which she has discussed on her talk show, dates back at least to the 1990s.

DEAR STACY: What has become of Gunnar and Matthew Nelson? — TT, Syracuse, N.Y.

DEAR TT: The twin brothers who comprise the band Nelson are still out there making music with lots of tour dates, sometimes doing Ricky Nelson Remembered shows in tribute to their late father — for instance, their gig at Harrah's Tahoe this Saturday (12/26). As Gunnar has said, they like to do those shows because they feel closer to their dad, and it's nice to go back to the innocence and goodness of that bygone time. Nelson also continues to record. They just haven't attained the kind of attention they drew back in their heyday.

DEAR STACY: Please give some information about the very attractive Kelli Williams of "Lie to Me." — Roger B., Staten Island, N.Y.

DEAR ROGER: The 39-year-old actress who portrays psychiatrist Dr. Gillian Foster on "Lie to Me" is remembered for her seven-year stint on "The Practice" as feisty Lindsay Dole Donnell. She had a long arc as a love interest for James Tupper on "Men in Trees," in addition to many guest stints on other episodic shows, plus TV movie roles.

The daughter of actress Shannon Wilcox, Williams was born in L.A. and started doing commercials when she was a baby. She landed an agent while a student at Beverly Hills High School and a few years later made her movie debut in "There Goes My Baby" with Noah Wyle. Williams is married to Canadian-born actor-writer-producer Ajay Sahgal and they have three children.

DEAR STACY: I saw "Drumline." Nick Cannon is hot! How'd he get his start? — Barb L., Newtown, CT

DEAR BARB: Certainly, Cannon's wife, Mariah Carey, would agree with you. The actor/comic/rapper and "America's Got Talent" host started performing at age 8, when he taught himself to play musical instruments left to him by his grandfather. By 11, he was making appearances doing comedy on his televangelist father, James Cannon's, cable access show. By 15, he was doing the rounds of Hollywood comedy clubs, including the Comedy Store, The Improv and The Laugh Factory. By 17, he had landed a gig as an audience warm-up guy for the Nickelodeon show "All That" — and won the producers' admiration to the point of being made a regular and a staff writer. His own "The Nick Cannon Show" followed. The 29-year-old San Diego native's first screen appearance was in "Men In Black II," followed by his star turn in 2002's "Drumline." His self-titled debut album was released the next year. Other credits followed, including several movies and his "Nick Cannon Presents Wild 'N Out" improv show that debuted on MTV in 2005. He wed the 10-years-older Carey in April 2008.

DEAR STACY: What happened to "What Not to Wear"? Could hardly wait until Fridays. — Anne P., Seymour, Conn.

DEAR ANNE: You won't have to wait too much longer. The popular show will be back on TLC next month.

DEAR STACY: Who did the voice of the Wicked Queen/witch in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs"? Did she have other roles? — William P., Hampton Bays, N.Y.

DEAR WILLIAM: Lucille La Verne provided the voices for "Snow White's" evil queen and her old hag alter ego, as well as modeling the hag. You can see her in the 1930s films "Little Caesar" and "A Tale of Two Cities." She played Ma Magdalena in the former, The Vengeance in the latter. La Verne had an illustrious, decades-long career as a Broadway actress, director and playwright, beginning in 1888 at age 16. She died in 1945.
