ASK STACYDEAR STACY: Loved Paige Davis on "Trading Spaces." What is she doing now? — Greg M., Whitefish Bay, Wis. DEAR GREG: The Broadway veteran ("Boeing, Boeing," "Chicago") is due to begin a special engagement of the musical "I Do! I Do!" at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre Dec. 11, lasting till the 20th, with her real-life husband of eight years, Patrick Page. The show traverses five decades in the life of a marriage. In a release signed by "Paige and Page," the couple stated that they hope "to be able to bring a special kind of truth to the marriage depicted in the show." DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to the idea of remaking "The A-Team"? — Scott V., Columbus, Ohio DEAR SCOTT: Look for the new version of the old hit to show up in theaters in June. It has Liam Neeson playing Hannibal Smith, with a cast including Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Patrick Wilson and South African actor Sharlto Copley of "District 9" fame. The 20th Century Fox feature is expected to be a high-octane action flick minus some of the silly stuff that used to be present in the beloved George Peppard series. DEAR STACY: I've seen John Ritter's son, Jason Ritter, in one or two movies. He's much like his famous dad. Can you tell about him and what he's doing these days? — Sarah A., Bayside, N.Y. DEAR SARAH: Ritter, 29, is enjoying his run of daring independent movies — including last year's erotic, disturbing "Good Dick," which was written, directed and starred his long-time girlfriend, actress Marianna Palka along with himself, and his October release, "Peter and Vandy," a love story told out of sequence. He recently finished shooting "Bag of Hammers," a story of a couple of low-level criminals who become involved in caring for a young boy. "All of a sudden, I've found that directors are trusting me to experiment, to try something different. It's exciting," he told me. "I won't say no to any certain genre, but generally, I want to keep making choices that allow me to sleep at night, if not buy me a new bed." The son of Nancy Morgan and the late John Ritter, and the grandson of musician/actor Tex Ritter and Dorothy Fay, Jason studied theater at NYU and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. His first claim to his own fame was his role as the paraplegic brother on "Joan of Arcadia." Other films range from Oliver Stone's "W," in which he played Jeb Bush, to his foray into the slasher movie world with "Freddy Vs.
DEAR STACY: What ever happened to Richard Biggs of "Babylon 5"? — J.T., Cedar Rapids, Iowa DEAR J.T.: Sadly, the actor, also seen in "Strong Medicine," died at the age of 44 in 2004 of complications stemming from aortic dissection. His sudden passing came as a terrible shock to loved ones and co-workers. As "Babylon 5" show creator J. Michael Straczynski wrote to fans on the Internet, "What seems to have happened, happened quickly." He left his wife and two sons. DEAR STACY: Please let my wife and I know what became of Madylin, Sullivan and Sawyer Sweeten, who appeared on "Everybody Loves Raymond." — Leo W. Queens, N.Y. DEAR LEO: Madylin, now 18, continues to act and had a small role in last year's Shia LaBeouf "Eagle Eye" action thriller. Her twin brothers, age 14, are focusing mainly on their high school in the community of La Canada, northeast of Los Angeles. All three appear in an instructional video called "Learn to Skateboard," released in 2008. DEAR STACY: What happened to Michael Kors on "Project Runway"? — M.A.L., Woodside, N.Y. DEAR M.A.L.: Kors and Nina Garcia were absent for weeks of the Season 6 "Project Runway" episodes because the show's production went to Los Angeles — along with shooting that began in September instead of their usual June — and created impossible schedule conflicts with his work as a designer and hers as fashion director at Marie Claire. However, Season 7, which completed shooting this past August for airing beginning in January, has "Project Runway" back in New York, with the much-missed Kors and Garcia back full time. DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to Fred Savage and his brother, Ben? What have they been doing lately? — Paola J., Brooklyn, N.Y. DEAR PAOLA: Although former "Wonder Years" star Fred Savage still acts occasionally, he's a very busy TV director. Lately, he's been directing "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and he's also done a lot of shows aimed at young people, including "Drake & Josh," "The Wizards of Waverly Place" and "Hannah Montana." Fred's married to Jennifer Stone and they have a 2-year-old son and a 1-year-old daughter. Ben Savage, who's single, continues to act, with recent roles in "Chuck" and "Without a Trace," and the upcoming big-screen romantic dramedy "Doesn't Texas Ever End." Both Savages are graduates of Stanford University. To find out more about Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith and read their past columns, visit the Creators Syndicate Web page at www.creators.com.
