Ask StacyDEAR STACY: Please tell me who is that amazing actor playing Seaweed in "Hairspray"? My mom and I just saw the fabulous movie and can't get over his resemblance to the late Sammy Davis Jr. He's not related, is he? — A.C.A., Cleveland, Ohio DEAR A.C.A.: The "overtalented" — as one reviewer summed him up — Elijah Kelley is no relation to Davis, but rest assured that resemblance has not gone unnoticed by Hollywood. The relative newcomer is already reportedly attached to play Davis in an upcoming biopic produced by his "Hairspray" producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. The 21-year-old Kelley hails from La Grange, Ga. His other film credits include "28 Days," "Take the Lead" and the upcoming "Burning Sands" about five friends pledging a historically black fraternity. DEAR STACY: I enjoyed Susan Clark, who played on "Webster" and in movies including the Babe Didrikson story. Is she still acting? — Sherry B., Austin, Texas DEAR SHERRY: Yes. The Canadian actress, who is wed to one-time NFL star/actor Alex Karras, has been acting on stage in recent years. She did a stint in "The Retreat From Moscow" for the Manitoba Theatre Centre last year and has a current run in Edward Albee's "A Delicate Balance" with the Rubicon Theatre Company in Ventura, Calif., with "One Day at a Time's" Bonnie Franklin also in the cast. DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to Kelly LeBrock, the beauty who was married to Steven Seagal? — D.A.D., Brooklyn, N.Y. DEAR D.A.D.: The former "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful" Pantene spokesmodel and "Weird Science" actress has been busy back in her hometown of London, doing the recently launched third cycle of the British "Hell's Kitchen" reality show, in which celebrities compete to create cuisine for famous clientele. In 2005 she returned to the public eye to participate in VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club 3," losing 31 pounds of the weight she'd gained over the years she'd taken off from her career to raise her and Seagal's son and two daughters. She and the actor divorced in 1996. She's also had roles in a couple of small independent features. DEAR STACY: Please tell me about Mildred Natwick, who played Jane Fonda's mother in "Barefoot in the Park" (1967). Was she in any other films? Also, is she still alive and her age. — Joyce C., Flushing, N.Y. DEAR JOYCE: The esteemed character actress racked up movie credits from "Cheaper by the Dozen" and Alfred Hitchcock's "The Trouble With Harry" to John Ford's "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" during her long professional life. DEAR STACY: I have a bet with a friend regarding Hayden Panettiere of "Heroes." I say she played Ally McBeal's daughter toward the end of that show. He has the nerve to doubt me. Whoever is right gets doughnuts. — Lindsay C., Canton, Ohio DEAR LINDSAY: You're correct. The "Heroes" cheerleader has a very long list of credits from younger days, including the role of Maddie Harrington, surprise offspring (due to an egg bank mix-up) of Calista Flockhart's quirky title character on "Ally McBeal." DEAR STACY: What can you tell me about Colin Ferguson, who plays Sheriff Jack Carter on "Eureka"? He's the bright spot of my Tuesday-night viewing! — Rosalie R., Astoria, N.Y. DEAR ROSALIE: Montreal-born, single, 35-year-old Ferguson spent time living in Hong Kong, England and Connecticut while growing up and has led an eclectic life as an adult. He started off in the business as an improv performer and comedian — talents he used to put himself through McGill University. He also worked in a General Electric assembly line, taught high school and worked as a mannequin in store windows. He was a founding member of Montreal's On the Spot troupe and of The Second City, Detroit. He was in the short-lived "Coupling" and a number of unsold pilots before finally hitting a winner with "Eureka" — and he has a long list of credits including the romantic comedy "Because I Said So" with Diane Keaton and Mandy Moore and Showtime's 1998 miniseries "Armistead Maupin's More Tales of the City." DEAR STACY: I enjoy watching "Take Home Chef" with Curtis Stone on the TLC channel. What can you tell me about him? — Linda T., Putnam Valley, N.Y. DEAR LINDA: I can tell you the Aussie cutie who's quite the popular bloke with the celebrity crowd is 31 and single, that he hails from Melbourne, and that he was named one of People's Sexiest Men last year. He was studying for a bachelor's degree in business before realizing his professional path should lead into the world of food. He began his cooking career at Melbourne's Savoy Hotel, where he worked with many European and British chefs before heading to Europe to gain more experience. In London, he worked with renowned chef Marco Pierre White — and made his first major breakthrough gaining acclaim as head chef of Marco's Quo Vadis restaurant. A natural for TV, he did cooking shows in the U.K. and Australia before starting his hit "Take Home Chef" show here in the States.
