Ask StacyDEAR STACY: Can you tell me what happened to David Schwimmer after "Friends," and also, is he married? — Shirley S., Cedar Rapids, Iowa DEAR SHIRLEY: Schwimmer, who provided the voice of hypochondriac giraffe Melman in the hit animated flick "Madagascar," is reprising his role in the sequel that's now in the works. He's also in the comedy-thriller "Big Nothing," which was released in the U.K. and Europe last year, and plays the title character in Matt Mulhern's 2005 "Duane Hopwood." Schwimmer has been turning his hand to directing, on former cast mate Matt LeBlanc's now-defunct "Joey" sitcom, and the forthcoming feature "Run, Fat Boy, Run," with Hank Azaria and Thandie Newton. Having been linked with a string of lovelies through the years, he is not married, though he's been engaged a couple of times — to Spanish model Carla Alapont and actress Mili Avital. DEAR STACY: I really enjoyed watching the '80s sitcom "Family Matters." What is Jaleel White up to these days, and why is it taking so long for "Family Matters to be put on DVD? — KPR, Brooklyn, N.Y. Dear KPR: White shot a pilot last year, starred in a straight-to-video comedy called "Who Made the Potatoe (cq) Salad?" and has a small role in the current big-screen musical "Dreamgirls" with Beyonce, Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx. The 29-year-old actor, who grew up under America's nose as the nerdy Steve Urkel in "Family Matters," graduated from UCLA Film School in 2001 and also works as a professional writer, currently blogging for the NBA's website. White says when he heard erroneous reports of his own demise that surfaced last summer, "It was incredibly annoying. But I will say this; the good thing that came of it was that I really discovered just how many people's lives I was able to touch. Even though it was for a negative reason, it was very beautiful to see that." And you'll be happy to know that "Family Matters" is available on DVD. DEAR STACY: Could you please tell me if there will be a sixth season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm"? — Joe J. Bayonne, N.J. Dear Joe: Yes, there will be a sixth season of "Curb Your Enthusiasm." The question is when. According to Larry David bud and recurring cast member comic Richard Lewis, they started shooting the new season in October, but HBO still doesn't have a premiere date.
DEAR STACY: I am a big fan of Chris Botti and his dreamy trumpet playing. Is he married? — Jan B., Cleveland DEAR JAN: No, the 44-year-old Oregon native with the GQ looks and romantic horn is not married. He famously dated Katie Couric for a while in 2005, but they called it quits, reportedly on good terms. Must be hard to pin down a guy who spends so much time on the road. He recalls "a four and a half year stretch when I didn't have an address." DEAR STACY: I wonder about what Catherine Bell is doing since "Jag." As a senior citizen I am quite aware of Elizabeth Taylor and Vivien Leigh in their prime. I do believe Catherine Bell belongs with those ladies in classifying beautiful women of all time. — Old Timer Len F., Rutherford, N.J. DEAR OLD TIMER: The former "JAG" regular was seen in a recent episode of "Law & Order: SVU" that also featured Bob Saget and Bernadette Peters. She also shot a pilot for Lifetime that's been picked up called "Army Wives." Based on the book "Under the Sabers," it's about the lives of women and their families and friendships on an army post. Bell and Kim Delaney, who also stars in the show, start shooting the end of January. "Army Wives" is set to debut sometime in March. Bell also did the recent Lifetime movie "Still Small Voices." DEAR STACY: Are Hayden Christensen of the "Star Wars" films and Erika Christensen of "Six Degrees" brother and sister? — Alice C., St. Petersburg, Fla. DEAR ALICE: No. Hayden, who hails from Vancouver, has two sisters named Kaylen and Hejsa. Erika, who was born in Seattle and was raised in Los Angeles, has two brothers, Brandon and Dane. DEAR STACY: Are Flavor Flav and Deelishis, the winner of the second season still together? — Tavalas S., Brooklyn, N.Y. DEAR TAVALES: In Flavor Flav's mercurial world anything could happen from week to week. The rapper born William Drayton told the "Tom Joyner Morning Show" recently that he was expecting a baby this month with "a shorty in Las Vegas" he was dating between season one and two of his "Flavor of Love" reality show. However, he added that he still loves Deelishis and had recently met her family in Detroit and they loved him. He also told Joyner, "I'm not marrying anybody. I'm too young to die."
