'Perfect Couples' Hottie David Walton: Show Tells Him What Not To Do/'Toy Story 3' Producer: 2010 Good Oscar Year for Women

"Perfect Couples" hottie David Walton says that the writers on his NBC series have practically provided him with a primer of how not to behave as a fiance — and that's useful as can be, seeing that the actor is marrying actress/singer Majandra Delfino in Miami on March 18.

Walton and Mary Elizabeth Ellis portray the overheated — sexually and argumentatively — twosome among the three "Perfect Couples" on the comedy about marriage-bound pairs.

"Playing Vance, I get to do things I'd never want to do in real life. The writers make all the wrong choices for me. I know exactly want not to do and can thereby be a perfect fiance in real life," reports Walton, who met Delfino when they were (perceptively!) cast as boyfriend and girlfriend on the short-lived "Quarterlife" series of 2008.

For instance: "On your wedding day, when the bride is, like, in the room, don't look out a window really sad and forlornly," Walton advises.

He considers Vance "a big passionate guy who freaks out a lot. He's neurotic, quick to cry, an emotional child, pretty weird. He's the kind of guy who will obsess at a store for four hours over whether he should buy tight red pants. He'll get depressed and then make a big deal out of selecting the right music to go with his depression."

Small wonder Delfino "wants to make very sure I do not take work home with me."

But seriously, "She's been incredibly supportive of the show." And both are pulling for "Perfect Couples" to have a much longer life span that David's past four series efforts, none of which have gone beyond six episodes. In fact, the show — which NBC has placed between "Community" and "The Office" — has already succeeded at least in that regard.

"We have 13 episodes locked and loaded," as Walton puts it. Now they're waiting to see if there will be a Season 2.

Delfino has her own new series on the way as well, ABC Family's forthcoming "The Great State of Georgia," in which Raven Symone is making her return to series TV.

"This is the happiest time of my life.

I don't know how often life works out this way where everything comes together at the same time," says Walton. "I feel like I want to step back and appreciate it. It's a whirlwind, but it's a good whirlwind."

THE BIG-SCREEN SCENE: Even though this year's Best Director Oscar race has turned out to be an all-male affair, "Toy Story 3" producer Darla K. Anderson considers the film vintage of 2010 to be a noteworthy one for women.

"This is a good year of a lot of wonderful strong performances by women, and it's really exciting," says Anderson, the sole producer on Pixar's poignantly perfect Best Picture nominee. There are several other women in the Best Picture nominee producer ranks, as well as in the screenplay categories, and "I'm so happy to see that," she adds.

"Toy Story 3" has been hailed as a tale for our times, as a baby boomer metaphor and other designations. "A lot of the responses surprise you," comments Anderson. "When you're doing art, people project all kinds of interesting things onto it. We were focused on pure storytelling tenets. The vast majority of things people have taken as symbolic weren't intentional."

GIVING: Kyra Sedgwick is talking about take a road trip with the Natural Resources Defense Council later this year to do "some kind of educational stuff with them. I'd like to go out to my fans, to people in Middle America and talk about climate issues. We're forming plans around that. It's something very close to my heart." The actress is also, of course, busy with the SixDegrees.org charitable foundation launched by her husband, Kevin Bacon. "We try to do good stuff along the way," explains the Emmy-winning actress, whose "The Closer" will wrap its original run at season's end.

CRYSTAL BALL: Ratings pundits watching the reconstituted "American Idol" have gone from noting the ratings drop-off of the Fox show's season premiere as compared to last year to noticing that the show retained most of its audience from Week 1 to Week 2. This suggests viewers who did tune in liked what they saw with new, likeable superstar judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, neither of whom is a meanie. How it will hold up is still anyone's guess, but there's no mistaking that this "AI" ride isn't as thrilling as the Simon Cowell version with his "Did he really just say that?" moments.

As a Lacrosse player, its one of my biggest pet peeves that Hollywood does not understand the difference between Men's and Women's Lacrosse. A Men's Lacrosse stick is either a Defensive Pole or and Offensive Pole; the difference, one is shorter than the other but both have extremely deep pockets. A Women's Lacrosse stick is about three feet long and doesn't have a deep pocket at all. Stop using a Women's Lacrosse stick for Men's and Women's Lacrosse! They are two completely different sports!!
