"Hannah" Feature on Idle While Mileymania in Full Throttle/"There Will Be Blood's" Dano Taking Awards with Grain of Salt"Hannah Montana: the Movie" looks like it could become a casualty of Mileymania — at least temporarily, reports Mitchel Musso. The big-screen version of Miley Cyrus's hit Disney Channel show (not to be confused with the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus 3-D concert movie coming to theaters next month) was supposed to kick off production this spring, but now, "nobody knows what's going to happen," says cast mate Musso. "We're going to try to fit the movie in between the rest of Miley's concert dates, so we'll see how that goes. … Her concert tour might extend again because it's so big — and, you know, she's tired." Meanwhile, Musso is heading to London tomorrow (Jan. 19) to promote "Phineas and Ferb," the Disney Channel's new animated series about two stepbrothers (Vincent Martella and Thomas Sangster) who get into all sorts of wacky adventures right in their own backyard. "Phineas and Ferb" officially debuts Feb. 1, but it has already amassed a following thanks to two preview showings. "It was, like, the most-watched cable show ever," says Musso, who voices Jeremy, the love interest of Ashley Tisdale's character on the show. "Of course, it followed between 'High School Musical 2' and 'Hannah Montana,' so that helped a little bit." THE BIG SCREEN SCENE: Paul Dano, who added a BAFTA Award nomination to his "There Will Be Blood" accolades this week and could well be in this year's supporting-actor Oscar running when the nominations are announced Tuesday morning (Jan. 22), says he's "trying to take all this with a grain of salt." Explains Dano, "I'm not trying to play humility here. I want the film to be recognized, and I want people to go see it, but I'm trying not to get too caught up. … The trick with the hype and the buzz is to remember that the success of the film, for me, has already happened — I got to work on a movie I'd be excited to see myself, with Daniel Day-Lewis and Paul Thomas Anderson." Dano made a splash as the teenager who played mute in 2006's "Little Miss Sunshine." He says he knows he's lucky to have followed up that success with his current acclaimed performance as the teenage healer/evangelical preacher who runs afoul of Day-Lewis's amoral oil baron in "Blood." The much-honored, turn-of-the-last-century drama widens its release today (Jan.
He notes, "The shoot was really exhausting — 100-degree-plus weather wearing period clothing, in our own world on this ranch in Texas where we shot. Everybody was working hard, and then there were the emotional effects of the material. After the shoot, I was really burned out, though in a good way," says the 23-year-old, a literature student at The New School in Greenwich Village, N.Y. "So I went back to college for a couple semesters and laid low for awhile. It felt good to get back into the real world." MULTIMEDIA MAN: James Roday notes that his USA Network "Psych" series has become "one of the more popular shows with regard to internet content." That's probably because, he believes, "It's a lighthearted, silly show. It's not like trying to sit down and watch an episode of 'Rome' on your iPod." The Friday night show — which will join the NBC lineup in March — is really hitting its stride, believes Roday, who plays a police consultant who is purportedly, but not really, psychic. "We're adding nuance, getting to know people better, opening up back stories. If something is mentioned in one episode, it gets followed up on in the next episode. These guys didn't drop out of the sky. They have lives that actually continue," he says, referring to his and Dule Hill's detective characters. Roday's Shawn Spencer has gone from "having no plan to a fraction of a plan." MAKING THE SCENE: "Wizards of Waverly Place" regular David Henrie says he got his first taste of how popular his Disney Channel show has become over the holidays. "I did some snowboarding in Park City, and they had this New Year's Eve event going on, this big ballroom celebration with tons of kids and teenagers, and all of them knew who I was," says Henrie, who plays the eldest wizard sibling, Justin, on the sitcom about a family of wizards. "It was weird because I hadn't experienced anything like that before, and I felt very blessed at the same time. That was really cool." Henrie's Justin is the voice of reason amongst his wilder siblings. "He's always keeping his brothers and sisters in check and trying to make the world a better place. And people are digging it, too," says Henrie of the feedback he's gotten. "Justin's the kind of guy people can look up to and respect. I don't think you're going to find anybody who will say they dislike Justin, because there's nothing you can dislike about him."
