He actually broke his own record three times, moving the mark from 29 in 1919 to 60 in 1927. The record before that, 27, was set by Ned Williamson of the Chicago White Stockings, although there is some controversy there, as he played in a very small ballpark. Only two movie trilogies had every one of the movies nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. One is "The Godfather." Not only did the first "Godfather" movie win, but so did the second, making that the first sequel to win the Best Picture Oscar. The third "Lord of the Rings" movie ("The Return of the King") also won Best Picture, making it the first "III" so honored.
