Errata: Our sharp-eyed readers found some errata worth passing on. For example, we called Sam-I-Am the narrator of "Green Eggs and Ham." But of course, the narrator is the guy who tells Sam that he "could not, would not" eat the green eggs and ham. We also misspelled the name of Bob Dylan's son Jakob and had interesting email about the Winston's cigarette slogan and about the U.S. Naval Academy Midshipmen. Thanks, everybody!

As the story goes, Edward de Vere spent six years in embarrassed, self-imposed exile after bending over and experiencing a bout of flatulence in the presence of Queen Elizabeth I. Reportedly, on his return, the Queen welcomed him home and said, "My Lord, I had forgot the fart." She may have been more upset by his Catholicism, though.

De Vere's name may be familiar. He is also one of the people put up as the "real" William Shakespeare.

The Lucas and Barber Bible, also called the Wicked Bible, misprinted Exodus 20:14. What did it say?
