Those left-wing, America-hating pansies who stormed ashore on Normandy Beach have finally been defeated. Those scumbags who fought on Iwo Jima were wrong, and finally a brave, proud America has rejected all the socialist entitlement crap those dumb bastards thought they were fighting for, in that war we build monuments to but can't place.
The Greatest Generation. Oh, yeah. Don't you mean The Greatest Communist America-Hating Generation?
Look at the record.
Sure, they said they were fighting for America, but as soon as they came home, what did they do? Why, they went right out and got jobs, union jobs. Some of those stinking commie World War II vets refused to cross picket lines.
Heroes? They were cowards, always kow-towing to union bosses, strangling free enterprise.
Oh, sure, fighting your way through the Battle of the Bulge mighta taken a little guts, but when they got home, those gutless veterans joined the autoworkers union and the steelworkers union. Guess they musta been intimidated by union thugs, huh? Told you they were pansies.
Thank God the next generation of veterans won't have the chance to kiss union-boss butt.
Hell, no!
Those guys getting their legs blown off in Iraq aren't going to come home to some cushy middle-class job with health care, seniority rights and a pension.
Yeah. We plugged that rat hole.
Those men and women currently walking the dusty roads of Afghanistan are going to come home to an America that's more like Afghanistan every day.
Good thing they got experience.
Yep.
Here in America, the Holy Roller Taliban is beating you to death with the Bible, Wisconsin is blowing its nose on workers' rights and the tea party slithers closer to the Klan every day.
And don't think I'm "Anti-Christian" because of that Taliban crack. I wouldn't want Hasidic rabbis running the country, either. Or Buddhist monks. They're brave folks, those soldiers overseas, and we want to make sure they come back to the bracing, competitive environment of temporary work, no unions, no pension, no seniority and, of course, no voice.
Fight for your country as hard as you can overseas, boys and girls, because we won't let you fight for your country when you get home. Hell, by the time you heroes get home, there may not be an America. We're selling it to the corporations as fast as we can.
We'll send you a list of the things you're fighting for, so you don't become a left-leaning union stooge like your grandfather, who was so stupid he thought his service entitled him to a good job and a good life.
The list gets shorter every day. You're still fighting for the Bible and for gun owners' rights and the free enterprise system.
But you're not fighting for the right to organize or the right to collective bargaining. We'll let you know about gay marriage later. And you are most definitely not fighting for the right to complain if you're getting screwed. Shut up, and do what the rich people tell you to do. That's the American way. Anything else is hating America, and hating America means you're probably a terrorist.
And you don't want to be a terrorist. That's nearly as bad as being a socialist.
Like your grandpa, who when you think about it, was just a pansy with a Purple Heart.

Dion and Schultz want to confuse private sector unions with public sector unions. A huge monetary spigot to the democratic party has just been limited, whence all the hateful moaning this article brings to the table. Further, I voted for Obama thinking he would FIRST get us out of the stinking wars. No, he used all of his credit pushing through a health care bill that 64% of the electorate still doesn't want. That's four years of legs blown off on the ledger of Obama. Maybe the next guy will be listening to what the citizens want: Out of these wars first and fiscal responsibility next. A senate budget would be nice, but Democrats HATE solid numbers, so they just don't make a budget.
Wisconsin AFSCME, a public sector union coerced membership before Walker: 62,218. Post Walker and free choice for members: 28,785. Apparently that was something people wanted, a freedom denied by the democratic party. The war on workers the democratic party has for years waged on has finally come to battle, they are free, free at last, to choose whether they want to support lavish lifestyles for union officials and huge donations to the democratic party in every election cycle.
Sending a message in support of fiscal responsibility is not the same as "hating" anybody.
The left just can't stand being told 'No." You don't like the process? You hate the voters and citizens? You think they are rotten and evil? Your father would have sent you to your room after this little temper tantrum, Marc. We can't, but if you don't like us and our political process there is a place you can go to. And take Alec Baldwin's fat and stupid butt with you. I think it would be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Failing that, take a laxative, but this time use the restroom instead of the word processor.
Nobody is hating anybody, you silly old fool.

This article makes no sense and brings up no valid points. I agree Tom, this is just a tantrum.

The youngsters of our great country have truly forgotten or never heard what my older union brothers and sisters went through to get us 8 hour days, vacation, sick leave, pension, medical coverage, safety in workplace, meal allowances, OT after 8 ,contracts, higher pay for all workers even scabs too afraid to join and pay dues to help and support death benefits and pensions but still enjoyed and took advantage of the union members., 5 years of on the job training plus night classes to be a true craftsman and learn how to work safely and efficiently.
The pendulum has swung both ways and will return when workers start once again start losing pay raises and taking away hard earned benefits and loss of pay by the greatest generation who fought and lost pay.
Those who have never belonged to or had family union members that took an oath under their respective trade local will never understand what being a union brother or sister is about. So quit the bad mouthing.
Any person that works and punches a time clock or receives a pay check should be a union brother or sister. Period.
I totally understand what Marc is saying. Sad that the rightsters white collar rich unamerican uppity spoiled scabs will never understand being union is about.

All that is what unions WERE all about. But now thanks to politics, greed, and power, most unions are just as corrupt as any other organization out there. Times change. I pay union dues, and for what? Just so they get funneled into the coffers of a party I don't agree with or support.

Re: Chris McCoy;... Sir, Union Leaders became corrupt the moment they sold out for a deal with their employers... They joined forces with the capitalist class to beat the commies, only to find out how good their deal was with the bosses... It was all about keeping labor peace while they worked over the Russians economy, and then beating both labor and communism in detail... Napoleon advized never to divide ones forces in the presence of the enemy... That was the mistake of Custer at the Little Big Horn, and that is why we are now defeated in this country... Communism is history, unionism is history... Democracy is history...And do not doubt what this is all about... Those traitors who employ us, that immoral class of crooks and thieves has open access to our government, and they hate democracy, in the work place and everywhere else... Those people are not Americans... They do not subscribe to the ideas we revolted to further... They hate democracy, and they hate us, and the fact that we have any influence on their government is one they hate... It is time for the final victory of reaction over revolution... 1776 all over again... It is not time to organize... It is time to fight for liberty or die, and death is at the end of the contempt they have for our rights.... Our rights are nothing without the means to enforce them, and government will not defend them, and the courts have disallowed every effective bargaining tool...It is time to fight or it is time to die, unless these so called union men only want to give up and become slaves...
Thanks....Sweeney

"Sad that the rightsters white collar rich unamerican uppity spoiled scabs will never understand being union is about."
Sad that one would offer that description of their neighbors. Like Chris I paid coerced union dues for 30 years. At a meeting I was forced to attend the man said "Now we know some people in this room voted for Governor ------, and I want to tell you it was a mistake because ------ will go after (us). He will go after (us) because the our union donated a lot of money to his opposition." I stood up and said "You were supposed to protect my interests no matter who was elected to office." Then I went to play golf because that activity at least made some sense. Quickly thereafter I moved to a different state, but still wound up paying somebody else for the privilege of earning an honest living. 30 years to have some clown call me an uppity spoiled scab.
Of course Stein the clown agrees with Dion the clown, they both are full of that old liberal compassion, they just dress it up in mean talk to throw everybody off.
Dion and Stein are the haters on this page, they hate their neighbors and fellow citizens. Read their hateful words, know what is in their hearts; they shamelessly hate, a carcinogenic to society, living among us. With a capital H A T E.
That was fun.

Re: Tom;... Why is it you object to paying union dues when the union actually does something for you, and might have done more with your help when you do not object to the government taking your money and doing less for it??? If the one is coercion, certainly the other is worse coercion since no union ever sent a member to prison... Some one has concinced you that you are an individual, unique, and wonderful, and that if it were you and you alone standing before your boss, who is more likely a corporation, that they would recognize your individual value, your honor, your pride, your inate nobility; and pay you your due... Why should they??? One of the Warner Bros. said in reference to William Falkener, that he had the best writer in America working for peanuts... So much for appreciation... And it is true of many scientists and medical men as well that while they may be individually a genius, their inability to present their case en masse prevents their getting their due...Some of these people can leave a job, and years later lose a patent to their former employers because of the persumption that he earned wages while thinking of his new process or invention...The individual does not stand a chance...

Sweeney- Bunk. I left the union job 5 years ago and have doubled my income since. The individual is always the last stand against imperial designs. Darn right, I am an individual, no one convinced me of it, I just am.
For you to tell people, especially children, our future as you well know, that "...The individual does not stand a chance... " is just a disgrace. I don't care if you prattle on in your endless haze of babble, misread people ( "Why is it you object to paying union dues when the union actually does something for you, and might have done more with your help when you do not object to the government taking your money and doing less for it???" I do object to the government taking my money! That's why I oppose Obama, whom you will defend with your last, endless, dying away for way too long breath.)
"The individual does not stand a chance" That is what you have to offer? We climbed the mountain to hear that piece of mindless drivel? Liberals are certainly at home in some illusory dystopian world. Well, stay there, but don't drag your hopelessness and disdain for humans into the real world because out here people are all we've got, all that stand between us and the mindless beaurocracy of rules and regulations unions and big government force upon us.
"The individual does not stand a chance." Whatever sense you once had now speaks to you lontananza. What a disgraceful and typically liberal thing to say.
The individual is all that matters. Just because you gave up hope does not mean we all should.
