But their reaction was viscerally negative, harsh, cynical, pessimistic and absolute. Either I overestimated their capacity for some fairness concerning Trump or I am radically wrong in how I interpret the summit results.
Updated: Fri Jun 15, 2018
22116ed83fec35812f86395b3e649174 'Fake News' Is Not a Fake Term for 06/08/2018 https://www.creators.com/read/david-limbaugh/06/18/fake-news-is-not-a-fake-term Fri, 08 Jun 2018 00:00:00 -0700

The left and Trump-opposing right are predictably annoyed at President Trump's persistent description of the liberal media as "fake news." Like it or not, the term as he uses it has merit.

Trump's opponents hysterically claim he threatens the free press when he uses that term to describe them, just as they accuse him of other alleged abuses of constitutional power. In fact, unlike President Obama, Trump has governed within his constitutional authority. If his rhetoric scares them, then maybe they should find a safe space.
Updated: Fri Jun 08, 2018
67fbc01d6bb6c4d875308ddbd42605a6 Roseanne, Trump and the Myth of Conservatives' Racism for 06/01/2018 https://www.creators.com/read/david-limbaugh/05/18/roseanne-trump-and-the-myth-of-conservatives-racism Fri, 01 Jun 2018 00:00:00 -0700

Roseanne Barr posted what many are convinced was a racist tweet, and ABC summarily canceled her sitcom. As Roseanne is considered a Donald Trump supporter and Trump is widely accused of racism, people are loosely smearing Trump as responsible for her, however indirectly.

Maybe I'm defensive about loose charges of racism, but if so, I've acquired my defensiveness honestly, because racism has become the left's favorite categorical smear of conservatives and Republicans. It's not something I'm imagining. I've written about it many times, basing it on my observations of leftists and Democrats in action.
Updated: Fri Jun 01, 2018
7690255d4b4889835fcd193ab5612b41 The Real Story: Destroying Trump and Protecting Clinton for 05/25/2018 https://www.creators.com/read/david-limbaugh/05/18/the-real-story-destroying-trump-and-protecting-clinton Fri, 25 May 2018 00:00:00 -0700

You don't need to believe that the special counsel investigating President Donald Trump is a terrible person to conclude that the Obama administration and Clinton machine (and later their holdovers during the Trump administration) politicized and weaponized federal agencies to protect Hillary Clinton and damage Trump.

So if you just can't shake your instinct that Robert Mueller is the epitome of virtue and professionalism, hold fast to it, but consider the litany of facts that prove serious and abundant malfeasance on the part of the Obama-Clinton "deep state" actors.
Updated: Fri May 25, 2018
c943cc6667f3742979e67e8f4f95fbbe The Leftist Duumvirate Is Subverting, Not Protecting, 'Our Democracy' for 05/18/2018 https://www.creators.com/read/david-limbaugh/05/18/the-leftist-duumvirate-is-subverting-not-protecting-our-democracy Fri, 18 May 2018 00:00:00 -0700

It is increasingly clear that the Trump-hating holdovers from the Obama administration and their media enablers — together, the duumvirate — are not protecting "our democracy" but subverting it by fraudulently scandalizing and delegitimizing President Trump.

To avoid an email avalanche, let me emphasize that I know the difference between a democracy and a constitutional republic, but I am using the terminology of the Trump-hating left, which, by the way, prefers a democracy to a constitutional republic. We've seen so much volatility and fluidity, and we have a plethora of unknowns. So I admit that it would be foolish to take for granted that President Trump will continue to rack up remarkable, substantive policy achievements, but it would be just as foolish to deny the significance of his accomplishments already, on a variety of fronts — or to pretend that it wouldn't have mattered much if Hillary Clinton had won the election.
Updated: Fri May 11, 2018
ba66fd964f91e73ff77308c24f5dc849 Sorry, Liberal Media, but You Own Michelle Wolf for 05/04/2018 https://www.creators.com/read/david-limbaugh/05/18/sorry-liberal-media-but-you-own-michelle-wolf Fri, 04 May 2018 00:00:00 -0700

Michelle Wolf is not the first so-called comic to maliciously insult conservatives and Republicans at a White House Correspondents' Association dinner, but she was intentionally mean-spirited, and even after the blowback, she's unrepentant.

Members of the liberal mainstream media have expressed disapproval over some of Wolf's comments, saying she went too far. Basically everybody watched the same thing. Everybody got their news from the same sources, and so everybody had, more or less, a similar view of the world. But today, because of first cable television and then now the internet, people have 500 channels to choose from, and they are able to find the news that fits their views instead of fitting their views to the news, so they are very biased in terms of how they see things, in a way that just didn't used to be the case. And so it becomes harder to have a proper democratic debate if we don't agree on just basic facts. ... At first blush, that sounds better, right? Because I assume he doesn't mean he's incapable of being embarrassed. After a little more thought, though, it occurred to me that this construction just highlights the real reason he has apparently deluded himself into thinking he served eight honorable years: The liberal media had his back the entire time, even when he treated them like dirt.

In fact, Obama was a perpetual power-abusing machine. He was so routinely high-handed and selectively contemptuous of the rule of law that people were beginning to think presidential authoritarianism was the new normal. How ironic that so many of Obama's enablers are now projecting these sins onto President Trump, who — to this point, at least - hasn't actually crossed the line into flouting the Constitution. The left believes — and acts on the belief — that the ends justify the means, and so, it naturally assumes we will do the same. Obama was hell-bent on fundamentally transforming America as founded, and he was willing to scratch, bite, kick, steal and flush the rule of law to accomplish it — and he did, like no president before him. In other words, Obama's lies were OK because lies are sometimes necessary for the greater good.
Updated: Fri Mar 02, 2018
f2e0eb51661b2201178c956ff86e2985 Rumors of Conservatism's Demise Greatly Exaggerated for 02/23/2018 https://www.creators.com/read/david-limbaugh/02/18/rumors-of-conservatisms-demise-greatly-exaggerated Fri, 23 Feb 2018 00:00:00 -0800

I happened onto a piece by Bill Kristol in The Weekly Standard, wherein he links to "a short, powerful piece in National Review" by Rick Brookhiser, who "concludes that 'the conservative movement is no more.
