The affirmation also became the "news hook" for press interviews with the director and the actors to weaponize it politically.

Sadly for them, only actor Christian Bale won an award, for gaining 40 pounds and talking out of the side of his mouth like the Penguin in a Batman movie. This year's Golden Globes were refreshingly devoid of obnoxious left-wing fulminating — except for Bale. He felt it appropriate to sneer as he accepted his award, "Thank you to Satan, for giving me inspiration on how to play this role." He also joked he will now portray a series of "charisma-free a—holes," possibly Sen. Mitch McConnell. At least it's amusing that Bale won the award for best actor in a musical or comedy. No one should be confused about whether this film is based in reality ... even though the commercials claim it is.

The Hollywood left has convinced itself that somehow Cheney is the lowest form of immoral human slime, a war criminal worse than Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden combined. "Vice" screenwriter and director Adam McKay, a self-described socialist whose filmmaking resume bursts with Will Ferrell comedies like "Anchorman," even placed Cheney above President Trump on the liberal Evil Meter. The death of every man, woman and child in the Iraq War was President George W. Bush and Dick Cheney's fault. "Don't get me wrong, Trump is dispiriting and upsetting and we've essentially shot a drunk orangutan into the office," McKay proclaimed to The Daily Beast. But does that boldness continue when the Democrats win some power back? It doesn't look like it. Democrats can say the wildest things, and often, the so-called Courageous Media bend and move on.

Let's start with a mild example. On Dec. 30, former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe appeared on CNN's "State of the Union" and hit the party line, saying, "the Democrats should not give an inch" to end the government shutdown, and that President Trump "owns" anything that happens. "Donald Trump, because of his tricks and because of Republican radio hosts pushing him, challenging his manhood, he has caused so many problems for so many people in this country," McAuliffe said. "He is an angry, emotional, unstable man sitting in the White House." CNN's Dana Bash replied with this: "Is that your campaign — your campaign speech for 2020? Is that what we're hearing?"
Updated: Wed Jan 09, 2019
a444401702f7b80a55699943d780f1e8 New Details Ruin Khashoggi Hero Story for 01/04/2019 https://www.creators.com/read/brent-bozell/01/19/new-details-ruin-khashoggi-hero-story Fri, 04 Jan 2019 00:00:00 -0800
The gruesome murder of Saudi dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi shredded the idea that Saudi Arabian royalty should be praised for reforming itself. Then, on Christmas night, Trump snuck out of town with Melania to bring Christmas cheer to troops in Iraq. The scribes at Yahoo News discovered something far more pressing, and their scoop showed up on cellphones from coast to coast on Dec. 26. With President Donald Trump in office, it's fair to say that there hasn't been much of a "War on Christmas" this year, since the War on Trump is never-ending. But it's more than that. The left has become so radicalized in its deconstructionist ways that it is making a fool of itself in the court of public opinion.

Oh, sure, there were a few of the usual stories about cowardly school officials issuing edicts that no choir can sing "Jesus songs" at the annual "winter concert." A radio station in Cleveland got the ball rolling by banning its airplay for being outside the #MeToo spirit of consensual sex. We were going to say our goodbyes when the former president asked me to accompany him upstairs to his simple office. He fired up his computer and entered an address. Howard Stern's face popped up. The president hit some commands and a page opened with a perfectly obscene pictorial about his son. He pointed at it and then turned to me with a strained expression. "Do people really do this to people?" he asked. He couldn't understand it. He opened a second link. More of the same, aimed at someone else (maybe himself; I can't remember). Again the sad look. CNN filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia insisting that denying its chief White House shouter Jim Acosta a permanent press pass has caused "irreparable harm," and that Acosta has a constitutional right to shout at the president under the First and Fifth Amendment rights. How lame is this? Let us count the ways:

1. CNN claims its network is "significantly hampered," causing harm to Americans who "rely on CNN as an essential news source." As a network, CNN is not impaired.
