Wizard of Id

Johnny Hart and Brant Parker enchanted audiences with Wizard of Id from 1964 to 2007. The strip earned numerous awards, including the Best Humor Strip five times from the National Cartoonists Society. Parker and Hart were each honored with the NCS Reuben Award for Cartoonist of the Year -- Hart in 1971 and Parker in 1984.

After Hart and Parker both passed away in 2007, Wizard of Id was carried on by Hart's grandson Mick Mastroianni, as writer, and Parker's son Jeff, as illustrator. In 2015, Jeff Parker turned his pen over to B.C. cartoonist Mason Mastroianni.

Wizard of Id is syndicated to more than 1,000 newspapers worldwide, has generated more than a score of trade paperbacks and consistently earns top rankings in readership polls.

Under the able pens of Johnny Hart's grandsons, Mason and Mick Mastroianni, the riotous reign of Id's merciless miniature monarch seems secure -- and millions of loyal subjects around the world wouldn't have it any other way.
