Q. How can I write to the author of a column or cartoon?
A. You may submit a form via the "Write the author" button on the feature's homepage, which will be forwarded to the author. If the person you wish to write to does not have this feature on his/her page, you may write to info@creators.com. Please put the name of the person you wish to write to in the subject line. All emails received at this address are forwarded to the appropriate parties.
Q. Is there any other way for me to contact an author or artist?
A. We cannot provide personal contact information for our talent other than what is readily available on our website, or at the end of a column. All mail or email that we receive will be forwarded to the appropriate parties. Our writers and artists do not work out of our Los Angeles office and cannot be reached via phone there.
Q. How do I submit my work for review by the Creators Syndicate editorial review board?
A. Please see our guidelines for submission here. Keep in mind that, due to the hundreds of submissions that we receive each month, it will take 6-8 weeks for you to receive a response. All submissions that we receive will get a response via US mail.
Q. Who can I contact to determine the status of my column or cartoon submission?
A. Many people on our editorial review board review each submission; there is therefore not one person to whom we can direct such inquiries. We respond via letter to each and every submission that we receive, though the review and response process takes 6-8 weeks, due to the volume of submissions that we receive.
Q. I want to reprint a Creators Syndicate column or cartoon in a textbook, newsletter, or other publication. How do I request permission?
A. You will need to request permission via our Permission Request form here. We do our best to respond to all requests in a timely manner, usually 2-3 days. Far Side® permissions are handled separately; all inquires regarding The Far Side should be directed to FarSide@creators.com.
Q. How can I get my favorite column or comic in my local paper?
A. We suggest that you contact your local paper's editor, tell him/her why you like a particular feature, and encourage him/her to include in the paper.
Q. Where can I buy merchandise from Creators' talent?
A. Please visit our store here. We feature Amazon links to merchandise from almost all of our talent, and many writers and artists have their own websites from which they sell art and merchandise. The links to these sites are also available in our shopping section and on the talents' websites.
Q. How can I be notified as soon as a column or comic is updated?
A. You may subscribe to RSS feeds at many locations throughout our site. Look for the bright orange RSS buttons, or check out this page with links to all the sections that feature RSS feeds. You may also request email alerts to be sent to you when particular sections of the site are updated.
Q. Where can I find old columns and comics from Creators Syndicate's talent?
A. We are currently in the process of archiving all of our content from previous years, and all content that appears on the site after Jan 1, 2007 will automatically be stored in the archives. You may access the archives for free from any comic, column, or political cartoon page. Please keep in mind that these archives are for personal viewing only. If you wish to use a cartoon or column for any other purpose, you must submit a permission request.
Q. I want to use Gary Larson's Far Side cartoons on my website or in my PowerPoint presentation - how can I get permission for that?
A. Unfortunately, we cannot currently grant requests for any electronic uses of Gary Larson's The Far Side®. You can read more about Mr. Larson's views on the subject here.
Q. I'm having a problem with your website - who can I contact?
A. You can contact our Webmaster at webmaster@creators.com.
