Steak and Blame, “Saved” Jobs, and Camels for Obama

Dear Mark: President Obama must think he's cute, blaming President Bush by using the steak and martini dinner analogy to describe the economy he faced when he was inaugurated. Sounds like Obama's re-election theme will be to blame Bush ... again. Will it work? — Karen in KC

Dear Karen: Only time will tell if the voters are gullible enough to buy into the president's lame campaign theme. Personally, I'm tired of the blame game. By continually blaming Bush, President Obama comes off as a whiny spoiled child.

Barack Obama campaigned that he would solve the country's economic problems; and during his first two years as president, the Democrats totally controlled the House and the Senate. Whatever he and the Democrats implemented is obviously not working, but he's not man enough to admit that. More bucks are being passed by President Obama than a Saturday night at the local Pussycat Lounge.

Dear Mark: President Obama is asking for more money for teachers, firefighters and police. Didn't he count all of those jobs as "saved" when we supplied money to the states through his stimulus plan? Does he now have to remove those jobs from the "saved" jobs category if they are at risk again? How many times do we have to save those same jobs? — Viking Todd in Minnesota

Dear Viking: The Obama administration invented the term "jobs created or saved" shortly after his stimulus plan was failing and he was being pummeled for the lack of economic progress. Notice that President Obama continuously mentions how he created 4.3 million jobs but fails to mention the number of jobs that were lost during his tenure. Please remember that Team Obama wrote the rules and developed the formula for "created and saved" jobs, and the willing press went right along with the new math.

It goes something like this: Take the unemployment rate multiplied by the number of Obama speeches on Republican obstructionism, divided by the references to "inheriting a big mess." Add the coefficient of sympathy from discussing teachers, firemen and police mixed with the number of celebrity fundraisers combined with the killing of Osama bin Laden. Subtract the shellacking Democrats took in 2010, and then add in the stimulus.

You should now be able to quantify just how far the administration can pull the wool over America's eyes. In addition, utilizing this formula President Obama can "save" the same jobs as many times as necessary to inflate his employment figures in order to pad his re-election resume.

Dear Mark: Even though I'm a diehard conservative, I'm an American first, and I'm angry that a terrorist group in Somalia is offering camels and hens for the heads of President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. I won't be voting for Obama in November, but I don't want to see a terrorist group get him, either. What are your thoughts? — Hal in Cal

Dear Hal: I want President Obama out of office as much as the next guy, but I want him voted out of office not assassinated by a group of Islamic terrorists. The group you're referring to is Shabaab, an al-Qaida affiliate in Somalia.

I'm trying to confirm the rumor that when asked about Vice President Joe Biden and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senior Shabaab Commander Fuad Mohamed Khalaf shrugged his shoulders and responded, "We can offer a can of Spam, a bag of Cheetos and a back issue of People magazine."

Sir;... the re-election of Mr. Obama has a lot in common with the re-election of Mr. Bush the lesser... It is not a matter of gullibility... People on the right and the left have to support their man, and it is not essential for them to like him; but it is very essential that they hate the other guy, and hate being the alter ego of fear which we have a lot of -helps the cause of each...
What really helps Mr. Obama as it helped Mr. Bush is that to change a person, to get them to change a behavior, in this case, to change their vote, they must be convinced that they were wrong, and are on the wrong path to repeat the behavior they once demonstrated...
This goes against every fiber of normal human behavior... What we do, thinking we have good reason to do, as a reflection of our character, or so we suppose, is a reflection of every person's concept of themselves as true, and in accord with truth... Even Herman Georing described himself as True Herman...People do not willingly accept false information into their lives... What they know as true is correct compared with what is known by those around them, and by people they respect, and trust...
Now, that elusive center swing voter is always a prize for either party because that is how certain elections have become, where you treat with your friends, and dispise your enemies; but find yourself between the two as in a no man's land...But even among them, human nature applies...To get those who voted for Mr. Obama before to change their minds is to convince them they were wrong, and the more intelligent a person is the sooner they will admit a mistake when they have made one, but this is no small matter of admitting a mistake to ones family and friends, or quietly to ones self... Instead, to change a vote and elect another is to admit a mistake to the whole world, which is an insult self delivered to ones intelligence...
Most people who vote would rather vote wrong than admit they are wrong... When people become aware that they were wrong they may change, but when one tells another they are wrong it is most often a moral judgement attacking some one entire motivation and morals...Just call some one gullible and then try to change their mind; and I dare you.. The use of such terms is only to inspire loyalty in true believers, yours already who hate Mr. Obama, and did not vote for him the last time...
To change minds which people take as the seat of their reason though it is not, it is better to make people feel differently than to think they are wrong, because the one becomes an attack based upon a moral judgment... No one likes to be judged, even favorably... If people feel they had good reasons for voting for Mr. Obama they shall do so again, and all the money you throw, and all of the contemely you lather on won't do you any more good than the good it makes you feel- to attack and judge...

Re: Thetruth;...My theory is that Reagan blew a lot of sand up the butt crack of America about the second coming of Christ as a billionaire, and America's best days yet before it... Jimmey Carter saw how things are, how demoralized and depressed everyone is, and dared to tell it...
Why do you think we all got to be happy happy happy??? When white men have to force white women to have babies you are seeing the end of the Roman Empire repeated in our own... You have to be blind or an idiot, and the Christian community serves both functions to want to drink coolaid and shet babies for Jeezus... Mr. Carter dared to tell people what was in their souls, and he paid the price as a politician...If you are bleeding, blood is the most valueable commodity on the planet, but even to the dying, it is easier to sell bullshet...
Why do people take drugs??? Their reality needs escaping from... Why do they throw drug users in prison??? To show them there is an even worse reality if they do not like living with the one they got... Why do people seek wealth, sex, and power??? For the same reason every junkie sticks a needle in their arm... People want to escape reality, and for everyone wanting to change reality to one we can all enjoy, there are exactly one million and ten trying to escape it...It is okay to know the truth, to presume the truth, or guess the truth... Never tell the truth to anyone you may ever want something from because they will hate you like Cain...
The only reason I dare to tell people the truth is that I don't know them, and I could care less... If it were me, I'd be the one saying: Don't go in that shower ma'am... I know you need a bath, and smell like death, but its really a gas chamber, and when you are dead they will look up your butt, cut open your guts to look for treasure, and they will pull out your gold teeth, and burn your body... It is the cruel part of my nature to want to give people an informed choice....The only time government gives people a choice is when they have screwed things up completely... Having your choice denied until it is too late, and then have it dumped on you is more cruel than I will ever be if I lived a thousand lives...
Good and honorable people, as most are, want to believe that people are good and honorable... Even Reagan was good and honorable, and he believed, but only because he was an idiot who had his head up his horn... It is the really good people who have the ability to do the greatest harm... No one was better than Gen. Robert E. Lee except for Stonewall Jackson, and they were both a couple of angels of death with a terrible, swift sword... I don't want to be good because they are really the worst... I just want to be real, and realistic... Don't bother looking forward to me kissing your beybey for a vote... It will never, ever happen...I don't need your permission to deliver the bad news -yer skaroood...That's where it pays to stay in shape... Yer welcome!!!

Re: James A, Sweeney The American public was disgusted that the wimp of The United States allowed our Citizens to suffer at the hands of muzz-lum terrorists. On January 20, 1981, minutes after Carter's term in office ended, the 52 U.S. captives held at the U.S. embassy in Iran were released, ending the 444-day Iran hostage crisis. You type long comments full of vague theories conjured up by a drugged mind. Does your mommy know you're using her computer? Go back to the basement and watch cartoons or play video games and leave the discussion to the adults.

Sweeney your nonsense drivel does not change history. Carter was an abismal failure, the worst President in the history of this country until Obama came along. Stagflation, gas lines, high unemployment, embarrassments abroad, and accepting the decline of America are among Carter's legacies. Only a loser like Sweeney can try and make positives from that mess. By the way clueless jackass Reagan was not a billionaire.
