I could support your argument except for what you don't say. Bush, Cheney, Rice, ad nauseum, have done so much damage to this country, no matter who gets elected, they will already start behind and six feet under. You and those who think as you do are afraid of Barak's presidency, not because he's left, or black, or male. But because he is an unknown entity, mixed race, great education, idealist. Since you probably never knew anyone like him, he's a virtual stranger to you. You can only compare him to his white liberal predecessors. You believe it will take someone like McCain, a "familiar", to get us into tried and true familiar territory. Well, that familiar territory isn't such a happy place. If you haven't noticed, under the leadership of the Bush's and Cheney, between them we've had two Persian Gulf wars, lies, deception, unbridled greed, the undermining of our constitution and its checks and balances, Spanglish is almost our first language, all our jobs are going overseas, our houses are going back to the lenders, our corn is now being used for fuel, and food prices continue to rise, and American's are jostling each other to see which minority will come out on top. McCain is a "familiar", Barak an "unknown". Who would want the job of President? Why not just call the next American president the "whipping boy", he will pay the price for the Bucheney years. After 9/11 we needed a mature leader, we got Bush. Both McCain and Obama look good to me. For this next president it's going to be strictly damage control. Both are qualified, Obama is younger. If he would choose Colin Powell for Vice President, we'd have an awesome twosome.
