We need our President to act in the best interests of the United States of America. Can you explain to me how "pardoning" 12 million illegal aliens is in the best interest of the US? Perhaps when we do that, we can also refund all the money paid to the US government, and give tax credits for fees paid to lawyers by legal immigrants, and then top that off by apologizing to them for letting the illegals cut in line ahead of them. While I, too, am concerned about the candidates' vagueness on immigration, I don't believe it should be the fulcrum issue in this election. The most important issue in this election is foreign policy. Those of us who have the interests of the whole country at heart, as opposed to a "pet project" we want a candidate to support, don't have much going for us in this election. We have to settle for the best foreign policy, since the domestic agendas of both candidates are about the same. Immigration is certainly a part of foreign policy, and you correctly point out that here, too, it's hard to tell a difference between the candidates. That leaves us with protecting the country from its identified enemies--that's the War on Terror, in large measure. It seems such a small part of the whole picture. It's about the only issue where it's easy to distinguish between the candidates. But that's something, at least, and it's enough for me.
