I watched John Edwards gracefully bow out of the race.....As he spoke I watched his wife in the background. I thought more about HER struggle than his. To lose a bid for the White House well that's just some bad luck. But to lose a battle for your life,,,,that is a tragedy. It is tough to think about Mrs. Edwards without tearing up and just letting the tears roll down your cheek. God bless this valiant woman and God Bless her children and husband who will have to carry on without her soon. But then miricles do happen and i pray that one happens here. As for John Edwards campaign, Well there are other windmills to tilt at ahead and he will bounce back. Intelligent and compassionate people always do. My heart goes out to the Edwards family in their REAL struggle. Robert Lipka

There was no chance for Edwards because the media had already decided to paint him with the "angry populist" brush, so the horse race narrative of "dueling minorities" could be used as an easy narrative to build their story lines around. Notice the right wingers have already gone beyond this to claim that Edwards' supporters are racist and sexist and therefore in the same kind of quandary as the right wingers' extremist bloc, who find all of the GOP candidates save Roberts or Huckabee, completely unacceptable. Coulter endorsing Clinton is clearly evidence of this split. So the corporate media has the narrative they wanted, which allows them to cut costs, continue with the same band of loudmouth jerks on their hosted programs (Matthews, Russert, etc.). Not sure where it goes if the Dems lose-does it mean the GOP and independents are all racist/sexist as well? Time will tell.

I read this article this am in the fla today. i find your comment on the "sorting the childrens clothes so he won't have to after she dies" in extremely poor taste. it is a callous, cruel , cold and unnecessary thing to print. the article has enough strength without this comment. for the love of god where is your humanity? no ounce of human kindness? this family has endured more heartache and heartbreak in such a short period of time, your hurtful comment was heartless.

Some people have no heart in the things they say about others. I feel so Bad for the Edwards Family . They have been through so much and Johns wife in having Cancer is just so so sad. I don't take up for what John did But He is a human Being just like all the rest of us. what he did should be between him and God and his Family. They are in my Prayers . God Can Heal That I know. I would Rather have John or Hillary in as the next President than the one who the young and Blacks and Hispanics Voted in any day. I don't trust this Obama Guy. Lord watch over us all in these very much uncertain Times we are now in. God Bless America. and God Touch this Obama's Heart and make him do good unto you and all of us.

I VIEWED A NEWS REPORT ON TELEVISION LOCALLY THE NEWS SAID THAT JOHN EDWARDS MISTRESS WHOM HE HAS A LOVE CHILD WITH WAS GOING TO COURT. THE WOMAN'S SISTER ADMITTED IN FRONT OF NATIONAL TELEVISION THAT THE CHILD OF THE BLONDE WOMAN WHO USED TO WORK FOR JOHN EDWARDS THAT THE BABY WAS HIS. AND THE TELEVISION SHOWED THE SIMILARITIES BETWEEN JOHN EDWARDS AND TE CHILD. OH BOY , I WISH MRS. ELIZABETH EDWARDS WOULD BE HELPED BY PEOPLE BECAUSE SHE IS A MARTYR LIVING WITH A MAN WHO WAS A TWO TIMING PERSON. HE LOVED THE OTHER WOMAN AND IS TRYING TO LOOK LIKE HE ALSO IS DEPENDING ON HIS WIFE TO HELP THOUGH SHE ALREADY GOT BETRAYED.
