What Does Obama's Victory Mean?

"I intend to proudly vote for Obama," said a caller to a National Public Radio show, "because I want to show the world what America is all about — that a person of color can become president of the United States."

Let's put aside whether the caller would express the same enthusiasm were Obama a tax-cutting, Iraq-war-supporting Republican. And let's put aside what, if anything, America needs to "prove" to the rest of the world.

well, let's see... I have never seen a jewish person in media write an article like this one. Let's remember 1948. Larry, if this is not about a black guy taking advantage of being black and writing about black issues. Let's face it. All that you have said in this article can be written about whole lot of other ethnic groups. why don't you do that. I don't see your point. What is constructive. Plus, you only pick and choose your so called starts or facts.... for example.... you failed to mention that Average Income for Asian Households 57000, White Non-Hispanic 43000, Hispanic 34000, Black 30000. Well Larry, you will never state stats like this. It makes your argument weak. Your general take is this. Any good that has happen to black during the past 40 years can be directly traced to the work done by the Republicans and all that is wrong for black ... you can blame the democrats and blacks. Here is a question for you... We have more black players in professional sports... I see, Republicans are responsible for that...
