Hey you pompous creep. You think all Americans love what this shit hole, fascist of a country does and the people who run it? You tell us what or how we are suppose to do to stop these pricks that run our lives short of a revolution. Don't you think that it sickens all of us what our "supposedly" elected officials do every day to undermine the constitution or steal from us or kill the innocents of this world? We know it sucks. I hear it everyday from everyone I know. The American people are just as fed up as you are with the situation. Get up off your own dead ass and do something positive instead of pointing fingers. As far as my own personal poll goes maybe 3 % voted for Bush but he was shoved down our throats anyway due to the great voting system we have in place. Point your own finger up your own ass. When you can control the world and every decision of the US please let me know. Their time will come hopefully and they will pay for their crimes maybe but doubtfully as usually the case. Of course the American people and the rest of the world have to pay first. Quit being a narrow minded dick head. You don't know what you are talking about . You make me sick. Maybe you run with the kind of people who think like "the salt of the earth" but I sure don't. We hate the choices made by the government but are stuck having to feed our families and getting by the best way we can. We don't have the luxury of bitching about others like you obviously do. Get a life and blame those who are doing the damage and NOT the American people.

PCR incisively observes: "The indifference of Americans to others flows from "American exceptionalism" — the belief that Americans are graced with a special mission to impose their virtue on the rest of the world." This "American exceptionalism" is also called "tikkun olam".

Yo, Vee, I believe PCR refers to the 'Muricans that voted for Bush and the War Party, not those of us who see through the lies and deception. PCR is one of the best journalists writing today. He sees through the lies and the deception and writes it out for those 'Muricans who can't figure it out on their own.

Tokyo was bombed in retaliation for Pearl Harbor..lest we forget!
Hitler's prime goal was indeed to restore Germany...at whatever cost and to destroy whoever and whatever tried to stop him or was considered inferior. This was well known...lest we forget!
Vee, we are all disgusted and bitter at the betrayal of our leaders. Paul White's post is true, PCR is and has been the voice exposing the deception to those American's who didn't see it because they were going for the American Dream. Now they are waking up from their dream, to our collective nightmare. PCR and others called for impeachment of the Bucheney "dream team" long ago, to no avail. Bush, Cheney, Condaleeza Rice, all of 'em, have acquired great wealth and done great damage during their "reign of terror" over this great country. Don't get mad, get even! You can do this with your vote. If they're not working for us, they're working against us. Paul is working for us...though I do not agree with his viewpoint on this particular piece.

As is the case with all countries around the world, the government does not always reflect the will, desire, intellect, compassion, and I even dare say the wealth of its people. There are the "powers that be" and then there's the rest of us, who usually suffer the consequences of their actions. And there you have it.

Jonah Goldberg's LIBERAL FASCISM is relevant here. (p.398) "Buchanan calls himself a 'paleoconservtive',
but in truth he's a neo-progressive. ... Culturally, Buchanan's 'lock-and-load' populism was a throwback to
William Jennings Bryan and Joe McCarthy." (p.399) "Foreign policy considerations have made it seem like
Buchanan and George W, Bush are light-years apart. ... But it should be remembered that Buchanan was the
first 'compassionate conservtive.' 'I may charge him with plagiarism,' Buchanan complained when asked his
opinion of George W. Bush'sslogan."
Goldberg's heroes are WFB and Barry Goldwater. He closes the book with the encounter of WFB and Gore
Vidal. He reports WFB's "intemperate outburst": Now listen, you queer, stop calling me a crypto-Nazi or
I'll sock you in the gd face and you'll stay platered. Here Goldberg shows himself to be a LIBERAL FASCIST
in that he shows his uncritical devotion to the gay rights agenda. I wonder if he read the NYTIMES Mag a
few weeks ago. It was an interview with Mr. Vidal. One Q: Given the recent judgment by the Cal SC concerning
gay marriage, and given that you are well known to have had a 50+ year domestic partnership, what do you say?
Answer: Da-da-da-da-da---. There was no sex. GD the memory of WFB and the FAG-WAG Barry Goldwater!
I prefer Jerry Wright.
