Connie, What a great column. I will get the book that you referenced because I find my self in need of a booster shot of what I learned about kindness as a teacher. I found that my high school students kept my spirits up as they interacted with each other, something I miss since I retired. I dread what abuse you will take on PD comments from the crowd that probably missed the whole time of their lives that you describe in the column.
