I thought this article would be about self-defense for women, not another scare story about why premarital sex is bad for WOMEN... but not men! This is just cloaking the same old double standards in pseudo-scientific terms. I think it's a misuse of the research data to draw such sweeping conclusions, or to attribute all college depression to excessive bonking. After all, it's not like kids go to college with any problems at home, right? Having said that... not all casual sex is good - but, I believe it's harmful to men as well, and for the same reason. That has been my personal experience. Oxytocin... it's not just for women anymore.

Hooking up is, as indicated in the article, a deplorable trend. It's not limited to colleges though. It's prevalent in high schools and it's prevalent among young folks who don't go on to college. It's as prevalent among young right-wingers as any other group. The idea that liberals on college campuses are the source of the problem is absurd. Those who label it as a left-wing problem are interested in propaganda rather than in trying to solve a serious problem.
