I am a dyed in the wool Southern Conservative. But I like intellectual honesty and therefore read some liberal commentators regularly (and also avoid some conservative commentators). Susan is one such liberal wordsmith. I often disagree with her but find she is thoughtful, intelligent and honest. That's hard to come by in politics. It is also why she doesn't write for the New York Times.

Lady, and I mean that, I am a conservative but I think you are the real deal. Our country is in deep trouble with the present bunch of lunatice running it. It is going to take people with common sense and integrety to see us through this mess. I don't agree with your politics, but I do think you have alot of both. This article cries "me, me, me". We're not concerned so much about your life as we are about what you know and what you think. I expect more gravitas from such a brilliant scholar.
