You are absolutely right concerning your assessment of the president's actions, or more importantly, lack of actions relative to the Iran election scam and the resulting atrocities committed against the protesters that disagree with the current regime. Paraphrasing your statment, if he is going to be the leader of the free world...he needs to start acting like it...sooner rather than later.
