While Ms Harrop has it right in some parts, we do have to wonder why the "experts" are to be believed at all, when there is more money that science involved. We are not told food is safe, these days, we are told it has not been proven dangerous. This is especially seen when it comes to genetically engineered foods. It was never the standard something has to be proven dangerous, the seller has to show it is safe. It's not even a matter of science or evidence so much as a matter of lack of faith in experts who have a price tag attached to their judgement. With the Bush administration ordering political rewrites of scientific reports, how would you trust them. Then, while you are at it, ask yourself how Mad Cow Disease even entered the food chain. That one takes some consideration.
