Susan, as a conservative republican, I can't begin to tell you how much I love reading your columns. The column on Novak is insightful, interesting and sincere. God bless you.

As a long-time political junkie, I read everything written on politics and Novak was one that I turned to last each day. By then I had read everything else and could fact check his column. I have to honestly say, Novak fudged the truth more than any columnist of his era. Sometimes he just downright lied and did things that were way over the line. It got to the point that in the later years, people just used him to trash other people and to carry their water. Novak was not an original thinker or wit like Mike Royko and he was no Drew Person. He certainly was no William F. Buckley, who was as decent a man as the conservative side ever had.. I am sorry for his family, but he was NOT the great loss that the political pundits seem to be making him out to be. Only the most rabid and biased Conservative could like this man's work. I really don't understan how you could eke out even scant praise for this man. Ther was no there there.

If Novak taught Susan a lot but she didn't agree, then he was a lousy teacher or Susan was a bad student!
