Actually, that Thomas caricature was of him as a lawn jockey (not an Uncle Tom or a "mammy" figure--that would be a woman), and it was on the cover of the now-defunct Emerge magazine. If you want to tell the story, tell it straight.

Hell, if you knew what you were talking about, you could've have pointed out how the mag didn't have the subscibers to sustain itself more than a few years, or that it was published by the folks who brought us BET. But that would involve some RESEARCH, wouldn't it.
