Am I being unreasonable for wanting the presidential candidates to have solutions for the difficult problems the nation is facing? It was striking that during the Bhutto assassination news cycle, not one of the candidates put forth a solution to deal with the dangerous situation in Pakistan.

Bill, I could not find section to write to you regarding response about dont block the shot comment. Im going to comment via this venue. Bill you did the wright thing. The security individual was out of line to block you and your cammera man. Freedom of the press and access to our political representatives is our fundamental right. That individual deliberatley blocked your view to irritate and intimidate. Not what Obama would want. Barac is obvioussly more open and accessable to the media than many politicans. I was impressed with him when he stoped and talked with you just before he left the convention floor. I am glad you insisted and moved the security person from your view and asserted your right to question Obama or ask him for a future interview. I do not always agree with your views or opinions, but I respect your tenacity and your courage to seek and expose the views and opinions of those who have great influence in our society. Quite correct---there are no comments regarding what today's candidates would do NOW with regard to Pakistan, Iran, etc as they play out. But I expect both sets of potentials to take the easy way out. It is a thoughtful media that must make them pony up to the hard questions: What would you do as President and Commander-in-Chief of our armed forces when Iranian Guard boats intercepted US Naval Ships this week in the Strait of Hormuz?
