The News Media Vs. the Innocent

Years ago, Ray Donovan, Ronald Reagan's Labor Secretary, was prosecuted for corruption, only to be acquitted. After the verdict, Donovan asked plaintively, "Which office do I go to to get my reputation back?"

Hi Steve I think you have touched on an important issue here which is also very full of passion and controversy. In a word it is "The Shield Law." I think that every media expert that evaluates investigative reporting says "The Shield Law" is essential to a Free Press even though there might be occasional abuses. My own personal evaluation is the same as these experts and I would gladly stand up in favor of it.
