What's decent in the politics of media?

If we didn't know it before, we're now keenly aware that paying money for prostitutes by the hour is decidedly indecent — especially if the payment is coming from an elected official. It's even worse when the payer has a renowned background as a no-nonsense get-tough law-enforcement official.

Well said. Glad you brought up Lenny Bruce; George Carlin does it for me.. War is obscene, rape is obscene. Smoke everywhere. Some are smoke screens, some are actual fires. How did this get more publicity than the Admiral's resignation? We love to vilify a fallen idol. Idolatry is alive and well. Spitzer's huge media event was another bone thrown for the dogs to chew on. Much ado about nothing. The show must and will go on.
