Thanks for the excellent job you've done with this column, pulling together the relevant facts, reminding us, once again, that for many politicians 'history' is whatever they say it is, the present can be supplied with 'facts' that don't exist, and the future can be predicted--accurately, no less. With that kind of control over 'facts' and their interpretation, it is no wonder that the resulting story line makes the present decision, whatever it is, seem to be a matter of inevitability. There's nothing in that behavior that even remotely suggests we're witnessing leadership, of course. Oh, but, wait, we're using our own ability to remember what's happened, and to assess developments as they occur--much as you did in your article--and that's wrong, isn't it? We're supposed to go with the flow, listen to the spin, embrace not just the message of 'Change', but the ever-changing message, as well. Thanks again for your insightful article, you did a masterful job of discussing questionable details of Sen. Obama's campaign. The country is well-served by your efforts.
