You're right about Obama. He loves to cut the baby in half. He's done it on health care, the financial crisis, Guantanamo, renditions, and civil rights in security matters. It shows a character that either lacks convictions, or doesn't have the courage to stand up for them. He won office by promising change, but his administration has continued many of the Bush policies toward the banks, war, the Israeli/Palestinian problem and security matters. Bush acted on his convictions, which weren't in sync with the American people. Now we seem to have a Rodney King president that thinks if we would all just get along all our problems would solve themselves. He has already lost the confidence of moderates, and even the left is becoming skeptical about his ability to make good on his promises. A president who abandons many of his campaign promises is unlikely to get elected a second time. And, a president that seems to have no convictions and just wants to please everyone is even less likely to succeed.
