The Chicago Bears won a football game Sunday in a way that is possible only in the National Football League. Tied with the Broncos at the end of regulation, they won the coin toss for overtime, elected to receive, took the kickoff, proceeded down the field and kicked a field goal, leaving Denver without so much as a single touch of the football. For those of us who live in Chicago, it was great fun — but ridiculously unfair.

concerning the college football system - has anyone done a study to determine how may playoff games are won by the favored team? it seems to me that the longer a game goes on, the team with the more good players is likely to win. besides games approaching 4 hours is getting way out of hand. as bear bryant one said after a 3 - 3 tie, 'this is the best we could do after knocking heads for an hour. seems like a legitimate outcome to me"
