From once-ripe feminist icon to idea-barren harridan, she offers nothing to young women but anachronistic man-hate, anti-military bigotry and woe-is-me wallowing.

Hope and change? Try harp and whinge. Some things get better with age. The women's rights movement isn't one of them.

Hi Michelle, You may be absolutely correct in castigating Gloria Steinem as having outlived her currency, but right wing conservative bring out their heirlooms just as much asleft wing liberals. I consider myself as a sympathic feminist male and I am caught up in the currency of our time. This means that I can both understand the significance of feminine inroads in such male bastions as the military and at the same time abhor the reliance on military solutions to solving problems. Don't ask me to explain the logic but this is the way I am none theless.
