This is a good article, and I certainly agree that Barack's willingness to choose people who will tend to speak up when they disagree with him speaks really well of him. However, I find the opening line quite interesting:

"You can tell a lot about a person by the people who surround them." I hope others who read and appreciate this article will also now appreciate why so many thought it significant that Barack chose Jeremiah Wright as his family preacher and spiritual advisor until it became politically expedient for the former to distance himself from the latter.

And I point this out as someone who was glad to see Obama elected. I certainly prefer him to the viable alternative. There is much to like about Barack. However, there are some very legitimate concerns about him too, and his relationship with Jeremiah Wright is certainly one of them.
