Yap. What Mr. Obama is doing is selling out his base to buy a hope with the right. Let's see if he doesn't end up as another has been was been haunting the congress and pronouncing on great issues like so many democratic presidential failures. Every good president governs from the middle, but no one governs who gives up his base before election. You see how his moderation of view, and his pragmatism play with the right. Conservatives are incapable of change so they look on anyone who can change much as a flying fish, or an acrobate, or a snake: both marvelous and frightning. They don't see what he is doing, but only that he has some ability to change his method to accomplish a desired end, and that is right up there with fraud in their book. I think it is a mistake to play for conservative votes. And I think it is too bad that the right can't see what he is trying to do for them, and for the whole country. Perilous times demand nimble minds, and his is pretty nimble; but it is still sad that he does not recognize to what an extent the conservative vote is lost to the liberals....Peece. Sweeney
