And the choir said (all together, now) A men, A men, A A men, A men, A men!

Ma'am;... Well duh.... I guess that means the further from the bottom the longer it takes for reality to make sense... Yes, you and your class of rich people have owned the government and still do, and have mismanaged the economy and still do; and have sucked the wealth out of this country and continue to this latest moment.... You do not get it; but in trying to have it all, and to make more millionaires and billionaires you had to take the future out of this people, and deny them justice... Your part was small... All you did was cash your check and justify... But now that we need our economy, now that we need to be a market spending wages instead of credit, and now that we need our government in a position to help, everyone is played out with credit... Let me tell you something... You have no idea how bad it can get... People can think they are doing fine and find themselves on the street the next day... The same thing could happen to the nation... What you see with the sit down strike in Chicago could go national, and if that happens how soon will it occur to the poor that they have done right, and been robbed??? If you rich folks have denied the government revenue to increase profits, you are now going to find the government is unable to whipe its own butt let alone spend us out of the depression... What are you going to do??? How are you going to escape the skeer??? People have not got money, and they have not got the credit that once saved them from having no money... And I can see it in the clothes I buy for charity, that less is available, and people are trying to squeeze a dime out of what they could not give away... People are scared, and people are hurting; and this is your work... For this you earned your thirty pieces of silver....Thanks...Sweeney

Ma'am;... I am a moralist of sorts, a retired guy with a love of books and philosophy... So, I think a lot; and like a lot of people who actually think; I abstract... That is what forms are, ideas, notions, concepts, and signs... They are abstractions... Words are abstractions, and so are numbers, and as you might imagine, we do not grasp reality directly, and can only grasp what we can abstract, much as we can build up an image from so many digits... For these reasons, your line about fighting something as abstract as fear sounds terribly ignorant... Is there something abstract about your fear, or about your life??? We can try to form abstractions in regard to our lives or our emotions, but the way people feel is no part of abstract, but for lack of a better word, is real... If you can be abstract about your emotions, and if your emotions do not spring from some autonomic response indistinguishable from your self and self perception then you have all the soul of a serial killer, and that explains, if you reactionaries are all alike, why it is you can face the suffering of humanity with such abstract uncaring... Surely the liberals have too much soul, and often are not detached enough for a purely rational approach... Yet; what if a purely rational approach is not what humanity needs... What if we get feed back from our emotions to tell us if our ideals like liberalism and conservatism are more than simply forms without human relationships... There is nothing abstract about emotions... We abstract emotions to talk about them and share them, to fix the stuff that makes us feel bad, and to fix the stuff we fear... We do not attack the fear... We attack that which causes us fear... Thanks...Sweeney
