Your article, as always, is timely and from the heart, Chuck. I can't help feeling that things have gone downhill for the US ever since Cordell Walker hung up his badge. But Hebrews 13:4, AV1611, says it all: "Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge." Young people 'selling' themselves by cell phone is part of the sin of whoremongering. No-one says it better than the Olde English of the Olde Booke, which no modern person really has any difficulty understanding. To see how God's judgement will go in such matters, I strongly recommend WW2 GI combat veteran (New Guinea and Okinawa) Jack Chick's tract, Party Girl, which you can read on the Chick website. (Bro. Chick's picture, obtainable elsewhere on the web, reminds me of your friend the late Noble Willingham.) Remember too, from Mark 5, how it is always the Devil that unclothes and God who clothes, " And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and CLOTHED, and in his right mind: and they were afraid" (my emphasis) Mark 5:15, as indeed teen texters will be, when they discover how the Devil has been allowed to turn their cell phones into hell phones.

So now we're prosecuting teenagers for "child pornography" -- for sending naked pictures of THEMSELVES to their peers? Have we lost all common sense?
_________________________________________________________________________________________________
Most young teens don't realize the possible consequences of sending suggestive photos of themselves via cellphone. They don't understand that cellphones are basically high-tech radios, and that cellphone transmissions can easily be intercepted by third parties. They think what they're doing is a slightly naughty but essentially private act. It may indeed by child porn according to the letter of the law, but what about the intent and spirit of the law? Laws against child pornography are meant to deter predatory adult pedophiles from abusing children, and to punish those who do. To use these laws against naive adolescents for engaging in foolish behavior -- and to brand them as "sex offenders" for life -- is the equivalent of using a machine gun to kill a mosquito.

AWESOME information, but I must say, we are VERY late! I knew once cellphone companies upgraded everything and pretty much forced us to purchase these phones, even for teens, it was only a matter of time. Teen sexuality has gotten worse because tv, music videos and ads tell them they are mature enough to engage and endulge in ungodly acts of sin. Until we cry out with a loud voice to these companies and get on the hill DEMANDING that they have teen/child friendly phones withouth pix text or texting, it will not get better. Children who normally "would not" are doing so because their friends are. They don't need all this, because these cellphones, after all, were supposed to be a way to stay in touch with our children. So, they should be used in emergency situations. Texting and pix flix are not needed for that. These types of phones should be for adults only. Now, when you see how much worse the adults are, we might be asking ourselves later if it's really needed anyway. I think we should be able to take pictures, but not send them. We have enough child porn issues in the country and now the kids are giving themselves up freely......who has to buy the magazine? The time of the end is so here!

Re: Scot Penslar
I don't think it's wrong to chastise them. But if they do not heed the warning, something else must happen. Some boys are sending pictures of girls just because they are mad they broke up. Now how would you like your daughter's rep messed up later when she goes in for an interview? Unless there is an example made, they will not take it seriously and it's a shame, but sometimes it takes that before people get the hint. After knowing what the Lord says about sin and how those who are workers of iniquity shall be punished, I would rather be chastised on this side of the river than to miss out on life eternal with my Lord. You can be punished now or later, when it's too late, but one thing I do know,......you will be punished! Better to get it now and be saved and in right standing with the Lord, IF, you obey His commandments.
