That teenager who was inspired by Sex in the City to go vamping is responsible for her own actions, but why are her parents letting her watch that trash? Assuming of course that this anonymous teenager isn't a hoax or a compulsive liar... Tawana Brawley, anyone? I'm not exactly a cultural conservative but I detest the show, for some of the same reasons as you do. In addition, I think it's vapid. One reason I don't watch TV is I don't want to be influenced to emulate, even unconsciously, the same poor life decisions and shallow priorities that most of the main characters seem to cherish. Makes me teeth gnash. Also agree that freedom of choice includes freedom to choose marriage. Wish I knew why it was such a problem. Just a few questions. What's wrong with Trekkies? Aren't they just harmless nerds with too many cats? Is there anything wrong with overweight sci-fi geeks dressing up as Klingons at a convention? Ironic, maybe, but is it morally wrong? If so, why? And what's wrong with independent-minded career women who have minds of their own? Maybe if they used those minds a little better? Do they HAVE to get married? Isn't that as bad as being told they SHOULDN'T? I am 43 and never married. Just never wanted kids. Does that make me a feminist?
