Santa Claus Politics

by Thomas Sowell

Senator Hillary Clinton's Christmas commercial, showing various government programs as presents under a Christmas tree, was a classic example of calculated confusion in politics.

Hi! It is a rare occasion when I run across a person who shares my views. Thomas Sowell is a person who expresses my feelings much better than I do. WHY? ::Why do we rebuild on barrier islands where we had no business building in the first place?? ::Why are we rebuilding New Orleans in a bowl that is below sea level?? :::Why do we waste massive amounts of public funds to rescue climbers, hikers, skiers who ignore warnings and advisories just for thrills? ::Why don't Autobahn Roadways crumble in 5 years like our interstates?? Thank you!

I find most of Thomas Sowell's writing absolutely excellent. I must however, take strenuous exception to his recent statement in "Santa Claus Politics" that there are no economists in Congress. Either Thomas has blinders on, or has failed to take the the time to research the resume of Ron Paul. Not only is Dr Paul familiar with the writing of all of the important economists, he often quotes them verbatim. Shame of you Tom; it's quite out of character for you to be so uniformed..>>.. paulb
