This is getting very tiresome. I'm voting for McCain/Palin, not Obama/Biden. McCain has faults, of course, but he's a patriot who has served his country well, and his leadership as president will average out to be pretty moderate. Obama, on the other hand, is an inexperienced, arrogant, far-left liberal elitist who expects to be elected because he's obviously so superior. Just think about it: This is a man who's done little of consequence in his life, but he's already written two autobiographies.
I've voted in 9 presidential elections, and 7 of those votes were for Democrats. But not this time, and it doesn't have a damned thing to do with the race or gender of any of the candidates. I think that's true of the vast majority of Americans. Of course, that fact won't matter if Obama doesn't win because cries of racism and perhaps the smoke of burning cities will overwhelm any rational analysis of what happened.
I believe Dr. King knew exactly what he was saying when he longed for a day when his children would be judged not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. Too bad so many people today have not kept faith with him.
