I wholeheartedly agree with Mr. Martin's take on the protest against the President's education speech. I think that it is not only shameful but shortsighted. Our children will learn from all of those around them, whether it be their favorite athlete, movie star, teacher or rapper on MTV. I would strongly encourage our President to reach at to youth, call for their participation in our democracy and to strive for excellence. Parents already have a difficult task to help steer their children away from negative messages and influences that exist in their community and in the media. They need the support of positive messages to help make their job easier.

Wow, you are a genius! You know what every one is thinking. You know that when people oppose Obama, it is simply because they want to oppose him on everything. I'd say you missed your calling: psychic! Hey, stop writing these insipid and pandering articles and start saving the world. Tell us where lost children are. Tell us when a natural catastrophe is about to happen. Be constructive for heavens sake.

I love the tactics that liberals constantly use to attack and dismiss their opponents. Instead of analyzing facts and employing sounf formal logic and reasoning, you take the short-cut of personal ridicule. It's an awesome strategy. When the opponent presents his view of dissent, just call him uneducated, or a racist, or a fear-monger, or whetever. The beauty is that you never have to "prove" it, the fear of ridicule in our post-modern politically correct society is enough to back them off.

NOT ME, BOZO. I love the labels. I love the attacks. I am all the things you say:

1.. I want Obama to fail in his destructive policies that will destory the greatness of America.
2. I am uneducated in how to deceive, lie, and coerce because it is immoral.
3. I am a racist against any group of humanity that hates and tried to abolish liberty.
4. I tell people to be rightfully afraid of people like you Obama, his liberal base, and you.
5. I am, and always be, intolerant of anti-God liberalism in America.

Re: Jimpol
There was nothing in Mr. Martin's article that generalized opponents of Obama, nor did he imply that you (Jimpol) were all of the five things that you stated…you divulged that information all by yourself.
For some people to so fervently oppose a speech given by the President of the United States, on the importance of education and perseverance is completely irrational. As a young person growing up, I was taught to respect authority, to be responsible, and to make informed decisions based on what I believed to be true. As a parent and a teacher, I try to instill these same concepts. We had government officials and parents telling their children to completely disregard the president's speech, to ignore their teachers' lessons, and to stay home from school. We have supposed intellectuals and state leaders (on either side) calling people names, and exhibiting truly unprofessional behavior. What kind of example is this? The President of OUR country deserves respect regardless of your political standpoint. Obviously, there will always be some disagreement with current leaders, co-workers, neighbors, etc., but that does not give us the right to show such utter disrespect. What happens when our children get a job and don't agree with everything that their boss tells them? Do they quit? That's a LOT of quitting. It's no wonder why we have such a problem with public assistance.
It is essential that we teach our young people to critically analyze information, to act responsibly, and to become productive citizens. This does not come from jumping to conclusions, complaining, or turning our backs during crucial times. Our country's state of affairs was not created by any one person, president, or political party, and it will never improve if we continue to point fingers rather than working together. Time to grow up America!
