"I was seven-and-a-half months pregnant. There was no way I was going to be able to go out and find a job at this point," she told me for my ABC special "You Can't Even Talk About It" (http://tinyurl.com/dkgqbp).

The question is not "who would hire a pregnant woman?" but "who would hire a woman?" (nevermind married or pregnant)
When I entered the workforce in the 70's as a single woman, I was told the firm had concerns that I would end up getting married and having children. They made no attempt to hide their prejudice.

"If my employer decides they no longer want me as an employee, then it should be their right to fire me." she told me"

God Bless you John Stossel! When are people going to realize that anything and everything that the government gets involved in most certainly turns into a disaster that they never imagined.
I am looking at the current socialist trends in our government and the 'good old boy network' of big business and government and I feel like I am seeing a live showing of Ayn Rand's great work "Atlas Shrugged".
If 99% of the businesses in our country are small businesses, why is the majority of TARP money going to the largest businesses? How is the president of the United States of America able to tell the automakers who should be in charge and who they should partner with? Chrysler and Fiat for example??? Libya once owned 15% of Fiat. Looks like our current regime does not operate on the same principles that this country was founded on, does it?
A great perspective of the absurdity of our times is emphasized in the article by Harold Witkov "Time to Legalize Counterfeiting".
Keep up the great work Stossel!
