All of us should give some serious thought to some of the ideas contained in an article circulating the blogsphere titled "Why a Peaceful Majority is Irrelevant." So often our political leaders, "experts" and talking heads tell us that Islam is a peaceful religion and most Muslims are not out to destroy the West. We're told it's only that 1 percent, out of 1.2 billion Muslims, who are fanatical jihadists who believe America is the Great Satan, cause of all evil, and should ...

I would appreciate Professor williams thoughts on the effect that adjustable rate mortgages had on the housing bubble and the financial crisis. It seems to me that adjustable rate mortgages and interest only mortgages are the underlying cause of the current financial crisis. There would not have been a housing bubble .The bubble is the result not the cause.

Couple of concerns that I have not seen any attention paid to by any jornalists or news media. The high price of oil has meant huge profits for the oil rich Middle East countries ruled by these fanatical Islamic governments, Iran being the most important one. Every dictatorial regime in the world after stealing from its own country's population and bringing them to abject poverty has then had to depend on foreign aid in the form of WB and IMF loans to prop itself and continue its brutal regime. Which is the reason these regimes are scared of economic embargoes against their country which would mean no more foreign money coming in. The only reason we know that Saddam Hussein allowed inspectors into Iraq was because of this same fear. North Korea is another example. But what happens with all these windfall profits from oil for a country like Iran? The prospect of these billions of excess dollars in the hands of someone like Iran's president is scary. It is imperative on the U.S. government to respect individual property rights in our country and open any privately owned land to oil drilling be it Alaska or off the coast of Florida and have an economic embargo with a country like Iran or even Chavez's Venezuela. The Power industry also needs to be freed from the stranglehold of irrational, draconian regulations so that companies are free to invest in nuclear power that utilizes far less of the fossil fuels. We need to reduce our economic dependence on Islamic nations for oil, which is how they are holding us to ransom.
