Osama Crashes the Democratic Party

What was so shocking, terrible and unfair about flashing Osama bin Laden's ugly mug on a political advertisement? Hillary Clinton's TV spot was the first Democratic ad to make pictorial reference to the al-Qaida terrorist. It was about time.

How much the ad helped Clinton achieve her impressive victory in the Pennsylvania primary is hard to tell. It was a vague message touting her ability to deal with emergencies and cited a variety of them — the 1929 stock market crash, the Cuba ...

Ms. Harrop. If yoiu find it unfathomable why Obama would object to Hillary putting an image of Osama in a political ad, you're dimmer than I thought.

Excellent analysis. We can't forget 9/11 and Senator Clinton placed it in context with other traumtic national events. That shouldn't be a problem. What is coming across to me is that Senator Obama lately finds campaigning distasteful and a chore. If he can't make soaring pre-written speeches, he is stammering and inarticulate. The academics and the affluent may succeed in making him the candidate, but we may rue the day that happens.
